Quick fix for nicks or scratches in wood floors and furniture.
If you have scratches in your cabinets, wood floors or furniture, this easy solution will make them disappear!
These are especially helpful if you have animals that like to scratch your wood furniture. Cat scratches on wood or marks from dog claws on the floors will vanish with this trick. :)
Sometimes I hesitate to share these more basic "DIYs" or fixes, but then I do them in our home and am reminded that they are super helpful.
So I'm sharing! :)

Decorating ideas for an inspired Santa-themed entryway.
I pulled together a fun Christmas Santa display for our foyer this year and absolutely love how it turned out!
In general, tabletop and bookcase decorating are the hardest for me to get right. I find it much easier to decorated smaller spots, especially for the holidays.
Usually I'm overwhelmed by all of the display space our long Everett entryway table has. Last year I just lined up our cute lighted village:
And it was very pretty! But I wanted to do something a little more Christmasy this time.
This year I decide ..read more

My very favorite beauty, home and fashion items of 2024!
Are you a Black Friday shopper? I love seeing pics of friends and family with their hot coffee and comfy clothes out finding the deals.
WAY back in the day I would wake up early to shop, but those days are long gone! Now it would take an act of God to get me up super early the day after Thanksgiving, ha!
If you're like me and prefer to shop from your computer instead of trekking all over, this is for you! This post is so fun to pull together every year -- check out my ten themed gift ideas from last year.

Upgrade your plain Christmas wreaths with these easy and inexpensive DIYs!
Wreaths are one my favorite ways to decorate for the holiday season. There are so many easy ways to add festive touches to inexpensive, plain wreaths.
I put wreaths of every size all over our house when I decorate for Christmas. I realized this year that it takes me forever to put all of our holiday decor out because I can't leave well enough alone...I LOVE to tweak things and add my own touch.
I've done that with wreaths a lot over the years, and even more so this year. I've gathered a bunch of DIYs for basic ..read more

Twenty beautiful Christmas mantel decorating ideas.
I've gathered a bunch of absolutely gorgeous Christmas mantels to give you some inspiration this holiday season!
If you have a fireplace, you know it's a focal point all year, but even more so during the holidays. If you decorate just that one spot it will make the room feel so festive!
Even if you don't have a fireplace, a TV built in or console can be decorated similarly.
If holiday decor intimidates you but you want to add some festive touches, I would suggest tackling the tree and a mantel and/or TV stand.

How to make EASY Christmas bows for your holiday decor!
Simple instructions to make fluffy DIY bows, from small to big, for your Christmas decorations.
I searched for "easy Christmas DIY bows" a few years ago and tried at least three versions (that seemed incredibly easy).
Each time I ended up with a mess of ribbon that looked NOTHING like what they showed.
I finally found a simple bow that ended up looking pretty cute, so I wanted to share the easy steps!
You only need two things for this quick tutorial -- wired ribbon (I think I had 30 yards) and wire of some kind ..read more

How to add a DIY library paneling molding look to your walls.
Install your own wall molding (and save a ton!) that gives you that classic library/dark academia look.
Last I left you on my office makeover, I had installed the peel and stick wallpaper, removed and installed the new baseboards, installed the chair rail and given everything a couple coats of paint:
That pretty green paint color is called Vintage Vogue -- it's a Benjamin Moore color, but I have it mixed at Sherwin-Williams.
You can read all about that process and the grasscloth wallpaper I used here.

Early Christmas decor finds for this holiday season!
I don't usually buy a whole lot of new Christmas decor each year, but I found some cute items this year that really caught my eye!
Many of you aren't even considering holiday decor just yet, and I totally appreciate that. :) It's crazy how early the stuff comes out in stores now, but it's even crazier how fast it sells out!
These finds were different than most of the Christmas items I've seen out and about this year, and nearly everything was on sale when I purchased!
I'm sharing a few simple ways to display these holiday de ..read more

Where to find the best throw pillow covers for under $20!
I'm back to share my favorite resources for cute and affordable pillow covers. I love sharing where I find home decor at a great price.
Pillow covers are one of those things I switch out more often than any other decor item. If you get them for a good price, they're an easy way to change up the accent colors in a room.
I also like to use different textures and colors for the seasons.
I've found some sources for budget-friendly throw pillow covers (and inserts) over the years -- the prices are so good!

Tips for purging and storing photos, artwork and paper mementos.
Purging family keepsakes, photos and children's artwork can be SO overwhelming.
As with any major decluttering project I take on, the process of sorting through and organizing these mementos took a lot of time!
From start to finish, it took me NINE months to complete the process of going through all of our most treasured photos and paper memorabilia.
I learned a lot through the process and wanted to share some tips with you. :)
I decided I wanted to store everything all together when I was done. The b ..read more
