“If you can make everyone ‘Metaphorically Skip’ with every interaction… YOU WIN!” Evergreen Trading RETURN ON RELATIONSHIP Conversations at Brand Innovators SXSW 2014… ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ Remember back to your childhood when you would skip just because you were happy and it was fun. Or for me as a Dad watching the pure joy of my daughters skipping. I soon realized that the best way to put them in a happy mood was to skip with them. When they started fighting or just fussing with each other… I would grab their hands and break in to a skipathon. This opened my eyes to how good skipping makes anyone feel ..read more

Be You… And Stand Up for That

Sometimes, we get so caught up in trying to live up to other people’s expectations that it’s easy to lose sight of what makes us unique as individuals. One option is to give in to those expectations, hide your true feelings, toe the line, and filter your actions based on what you think other people want to see… in other words “change’ to please others. You won’t be surprised to learn that I advocate for a slightly different position. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because, in the end, those who matter don’t mind,  and those who mind don’t matter.” ~D ..read more

Treasure the moments… Memories keep the ones you love close to your heart, today and forever. #TheDadWhoWillAlwaysLove ? I LOVED being a secret reader years ago for my daughter Niki’s class. Great story, the teacher was giving clues each day, the first was “he works in NYC,” the second was “he likes to ski” the third was “he likes the beach, the fourth was “he plays golf,” and the fifth was “he loves french fries”… and right after the french fries clue my Niki screams out… “that’s my daddy!” Thanks so much for the reminder Carson.   The post Treasure the Moments… appeared first on T ..read more

This quote has taken on some special meaning for me many times in my life… “Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” ~Jane Howard WE ALL NEED ONE… and Return on Relationship is there for everyone when they need it most! We’ve all bought insurance policies before. We insure our cars, our houses, our health, our lives—even our vacations! Most of us never have to use the majority of insurance policies we buy, but we’re comforted by the fact that they’re there—waiting—if we ever have a crisis. But did you know tha ..read more

Most here watched and enjoyed Ted Lasso, and there were so many worthwhile messages… my personal favorite was CURIOSITY. And then I discovered the quote below from Rabbi Sharon Brous which really hit home for me. So important for for us all. I am Jewish, liberal, AND fully support Israel, and sometimes our own beliefs and loyalties can test us… TRIBALISM and CURIOSITY “One of the great casualties of tribalism is curiosity. And when we are no longer curious, when we don’t try to imagine or understand what another person is thinking or feeling or where her pain comes from, our hearts begin to n ..read more

AND remember that kind gestures don’t have to be grand gestures. Lending an ear or a kind word to someone in need requires little effort, and often makes a big difference. Return on Relationship With Yourself

The older I get and the more experiences I have and relationships I develop, the more convinced I am that each individual’s purpose in life is to draw their own map. Throw out the recipe book, the paint-by-numbers kit, and anything anyone ever told you about who or what you should be—and chart your own course. ?? Think about it as… RETURN ON RELATIONSHIP with YOURSELF It’s not easy—and it’s not comfortable. We are trained from birth to make safe, reliable choices. In school we are encouraged to conform and not to color outside the lines; in business we are comforted by “blueprints” and case st ..read more

“Argue as if you are right, BUT listen as if you are wrong” ~Greg Lukianoff… and be willing to change your mind or adjust your opinion. (me) In today’s world, in any world, the ability to engage in productive discourse and actively listen to others is crucial as we navigate complex issues and diverse perspectives. This skill is not only important in personal relationships, but in learning to influence personally and professionally, including marketing and consumer interactions. At the core of productive discourse is the willingness to be open-minded and consider alternative viewpoints. By be ..read more
