As I am writing this, thinking back at the time investment, and perseverance it took to make this compostable scoop possible. I am grateful to Jeff and Jenny for trusting me to lean into my connections and research to break the mold for this scoop and I am so happy to see it has finally reached Endurance Fuel and Recovery Mix bags!

Looking for the best way to fuel your adventures? Tailwind has you covered with some simple instructions. To start, mix 200 calories of Endurance Fuel with 24 oz of water per hour of exercise. It has been a winter of training with a wide variety of activities. From all types skiing, snowshoeing, and some biking (when trails allowed), to fitting in strengthening/conditioning, we have tried to follow Joe Friel’s training guide. One thing I’ve learned this winter during training for my first 100k is that I have to let go of the things I can’t control (see also: snow storms) and embrace what I can. Part of what I can control is how often I practice race day nutrition. In my lead-up to the 100k, I wanted to find a local shorter race to practice what I can. I was hoping for sunny and 45 but ended up getting a layer of ice, 6 inches of snow, and 17 degrees. From its humble beginnings, the American Birkebeiner has become North America's largest ski race and the world's third-largest.
