design · No. 1127 color me happy BY: Sarah Sherman Samuel We love a pop (or a whole lot) of color. In the sss office and showroom, we used a muted periwinkle blue on our kitchen cabinets. I love the softness, yet the spark of energy and surprise it brings to the space.  My favorite bathroom is filled with color from the storybook wallpaper at the sss show house. The colors in it bring together the color pallet of the whole house. All colors are inspired by my forever inspirer: nature and the surrounding forest of the show house.   shop my ..read more

design · No. 1122 inspired by nature BY: anastasia foggy Everything here at the sss studio is inspired by nature. We owe it all to you, Mother Nature! For example, at sss atelier, our kamp chair is inspired by Sarah’s favorite childhood pastime, long days, and sleepovers under the stars. The alba seating design and name is after a Michigan wildflower, Prenanthes alba, with its petal-like box pleated skirt and sculptural form. The trees surrounding Sarah’s home and studio inspired the ledge tables. Our skimming stone tables are a nod to the smooth stones found on Lake Michigan beach w ..read more

When designing our gambit coffee table, I knew I wanted to add a completely stone monolithic table to the sss atelier assortment. Still, I also wanted it to be a statement piece and incorporate more than one stone. By fusing two juxtaposing colored marble slabs together in a seamless checkerboard pat ..read more
