Breaking News.........Changes for 2024 and beyond........Read on.......             The Committee, who have efficiently and voluntarily run the Bayside Boules Community Group since late 2019 have discussed, for some time, the future direction of  our sporting organisation. Since we have started to spread our wings by playing other groups and since we intend to continue playing Home and Away with other boules groups/clubs we are intent on creating an identity as a 'Club' as is the case with most of the other new boules groups. We have changed the name from ..read more

Some of the Committee will be meeting an officer of Fingal, Janette Scott in early January with a view to gleaning advice and support for the future development of Bayside Boules.  Monday Competition: This is the penultimate table with Ciarán in the lead.  Chris could technically have stolen the title had he been able to play on the final Monday and Ciarán was to lose all his games.  Unfortunately, he was unable to play and Ciarán won on merit anyway on the final Monday.   He also beat Tom Buckley's record of 20 'Thirteens' in a competition.  He retains ..read more

Monday Competition: Three more competition days after this available before Christmas.  Today the 4th Dec. was dry but very cold with all players well wrapped up against the elements.  Fifteen players again today 3 x 5 with the triples playing two boules each.  Don't know if they'd play in these condition on the MED.!! Some great play despite the cold but 13s were hard to come by.  Ciarán ruling the roost still. Clustering............. Planting Days: Fingal offered us 100 Polyanthus but as we had no flower area we created two beds, courtesy of Tom Buckley ..read more

Update on Extension to Boules Facility: Ciaran and Tom met with officers from Fingal County Council and local Councillor Aoibhinn Tormey on Tuesday at noon.   This was a follow-up meeting subsequent to our representations on behalf of Bayside Boules for an extension to the playing area for Boules with attendant paths and seating. Barring unforeseen circumstances we hope to have two new pistes installed in next year's Fingal budget allocation [2024] . If approved in the Council's Budget meetings next February works should start before the summer.  The additional pistes will be w ..read more

Bayside Boules visit to Malahide Boules Club: Tuesday 5th Sept 2023.  After a long-standing invitation to visit the new facility in Malahide Castle grounds, today was the day. A few players from Bayside assisted in their set up as a club a year ago.  They have over 60 names on their books, currently, and their Tuesday morning sessions are their busiest time  hence our visit today. Mark and Zvia were on hand at 10 a.m. raking and setting out the gear and setting up tables and chairs. We had nine players to their sixteen.  They requested a 'versus' competition which, wi ..read more

Matchplay Final Mary and Chris Grehan won the Doubles Matchplay. They were randomly drawn together by Ciarán's tracker but took full advantage and have a trophy each for the mantlepiece until the next doubles competition. Congratulations to both and all those who took part without ultimate success.  There were great games on the way to the final and most were well attended courtesy of the WhatsApp Group, administered by Ciarán.
