The Friendship Games is the brainchild of Matt Blyton and two of his European boules-playing friends. ‘Let’s have a cross border pétanque competition!’
The first event took place in Germany in the autumn of 2022. Participating were three clubs - one from London, one from Regensburg, and a mixed club from Bratislava, Prague and Ljubljana. Teams were well balanced with everyone winning at least one match. Most games, except for one 13 - 0 blowout, were very tight.
Third place went to Keith-Christian-Su Koe, runners up were Barry-Matt-Lou; both teams won 3 and lost 2. The winners ..read more

The event was well represented by LPC members. The London teams attending had a strong showing with three of the four teams reaching the quarter-finals, two of which progressed to the semi-finals. One team had made it to the final, but was unfortunately defeated after a good display.
