It’s the first of the month and that means another pattern from the Cashmerette Club has launched– the Avola dress & top. I received an advanced copy and was excited to make something fancy. In case you were wondering, my dog insisted on being a part of the pictures. I hope you enjoy that. The Avola pattern includes options to make a top or dress, and have 1 inch wide fixed straps or 3/8 inch narrow adjustable straps. It includes a bust dart, cup sizes C-H, and center back seam. I chose the dress length with wide straps for my version. I wanted to make a slip dress that I could wear to a ..read more

A world of Wexfords

I am back with another pattern review of sorts. I really just wanted to share some cute stuff I made. The July Cashmerette Club pattern was the Wexford Top and Dress. I was excited to make a couple of these to complete my “thrown on dress” gap in my wardrobe. I am reaching for cute and simple outfits that don’t require a lot of energy to put together. The Wexford is perfect for that. It comes with sleeved (short, mid, long) and sleeveless options along with a tank and knee length dress option. I’ve focused on the sleeveless view because it’s hot in Georgia and I just want my arms out right now ..read more

Muna and Broad Melba Dress

I am back in my sewing room and making things again. I was really excited about this pattern as soon as Muna and Broad released it. The Melba dress is designed for a variety of woven fabrics and features a V neck, generous pockets, and a mitered high-low hem. I really liked both Jess & Leila’s versions so I went into my fabric stash to find a yummy solid fabric to make my own version. I used a viscose linen noil (70% viscose/30% linen) in cinnamon from Blackbird Fabrics. I like wearing this fabric but sometimes struggle to actually use it because it feels so precious. I decided that this ..read more

Cashmerette Kineton Dress

I made a very cute dress. It’s so cute that I didn’t even introduce it before telling you how I feel about it. This is the Cashmerette Kineton dress, a pattern available to Cashmerette Club members. It has an elastic waist, pockets, V-neck, and bust darts. It features options for an elastic pouf sleeve or a long bishop sleeve with wrist flounce. It is designed for woven fabrics that have a bit of drape. I made the long bishop sleeve version in a rayon challis I picked up from Melanated Fabrics earlier this year. The print caught my eye and I knew it needed to become a dress. I didn’t attempt ..read more

Cashmerette Kimball Bomber Jacket

I made a very cute color blocked bomber jacket and I am pretty proud of myself. I used the Kimball Bomber Jacket pattern from Cashmerette. This particular pattern is exclusive to Cashmerette Club members. I made the 26 G/H according to my current measurements and made no adjustments to the pattern. I may possibly lengthen the sleeve on future versions because I realized that my arms are a bit longer than the block is drafted for. I hadn’t really noticed before because I don’t make many long-sleeved garments. I used a burgundy cotton/polyester twill bottom weight fabric that I purchased from ..read more

Hey y’all! I am back with another pattern review. Muna and Broad has released a new knit dress pattern and I am very excited about it. I tested this pattern and am under no obligation to post about it. But I really like this dress and wanted to share it with everyone. You will see pictures of my tester version throughout this post. There were small adjustments made to the pattern as a result of testing and I absolutely plan on making additional dresses from the final pattern. The Hexham dress comes with a lot of options that allow for a mix and match dream. This includes a crew neck, turtlene ..read more

Cashmerette Harrison Shirt

Well hello there! Today I am sharing my tester version of the Cashmerette Harrison shirt. This pattern has been on my radar for quite some time. I purchased it very early in my sewing journey, but never got around to making it. Part of that was because button up shirts intimidated me, but another part was because I changed sizes. I didn’t have enough fabric for my new size, so I set it on a shelf for a while. When the opportunity came to test this pattern, I took it as a sign to finally jump in. My sewing skills have drastically improved since I first picked up this pattern, and I felt confid ..read more

Muna and Broad: Pants Edition

I started a few posts about the various pants I’ve made with Muna & Broad. I was going to separate them into individual posts, but I think it makes sense to put it all in one post. I’ll be talking about three different M&B patterns: Willandra, Sculthorpe, Birchgrove. If you’d like to hear about my all time favorite Glebe pants, you can find that in this previous post. I haven’t made the Noice jeans yet, but they are on my list. Let’s start with the Willandra pants. I made these in a bright blue viscose linen noil in size 1 (old sizes). When I make them again, I will use size F. T ..read more

Hey y’all! I have been so excited about the Tarawi shirt from Muna & Broad. Jess & Leila have been sharing sneak peeks and updates about the Tarawi over on their Patreon, so I squealed with excitement when it was available for purchase. This pattern has two views. View A has a two-piece collar and chest pockets while View B has a band collar and omits the pockets. I combined the views for a button up shirt with a two-piece collar. There are a bunch of other features in this sewing pattern too. There are two options for sleeve width and 4 bust options: no bust, 2+, 4+, and 6+. These ar ..read more

Cashmerette Upton Dress

The Upton dress has been on my sewing list for a very long time. I’ve seen many versions of this dress and each time it pops up I am reminded that I want to make it. So when the opportunity came to test the new expansion pack, I enthusiastically said yes. I regularly test for Cashmerette and I’ve always had a positive experience. I previously shared a tea length Upton skirt, so I thought it would be great to share the other two I made. My tester version was the maxi length pleated skirt. I have very few maxi skirts in my closet so I thought it would be a fun and interesting adventure. I used ..read more
