On June 19th, the United States will formally acknowledge Juneteenth for only the fourth time. Juneteenth celebrates the day enslaved people in Texas were officially given their freedom in 1865 – two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. I think there is a lot we can learn about hope and resistance from the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas who had to wait for their freedom. This Juneteenth, I implore you to consider how we can collectively harness that spirit of hope and resilience in our fight for Reproductive Justice (RJ) because while there is so much under a ..read more

Today, the Senate failed to pass the Right to IVF Act. In response, Dr. Regina Davis Moss, President and CEO of In Our Own Voice, released the following statement:
“Reproductive Justice is about having the freedom to choose if, when, and how to start a family, and when access to IVF is threatened, we’re not able to fully control our own reproductive futures. The Senate’s decision to block the Right to IVF Act is yet another example of our lawmakers imposing personal ideology over science rather than prioritizing the rights and needs of families. Black women are twice as likely to experience in ..read more
