Brewers take on Craig Counsell for first time since 2006
For the first time since July 14, 2006, the Brewers will play against Craig Counsell in a regular season game. That appearance came with Counsell playing as the starting shortstop for the Arizona Diamondbacks, a game the Brewers lost 4-3.
The Brewers are also headed to Wrigley Field for the first time in 2024 as Counsell is at the helm of the rival Cubs. Joe Ross is on the hill for the Crew opposite Hayden Wesneski for the Cubbies.

The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to Chicago to take on the Cubs for the first time in 2024, also marking the first time Milwaukee faces off against former manager Craig Counsell. Counsell’s former mentor and right-hand man, Brewer manager Pat Murphy, will miss Friday’s game after being suspended for two games in the fallout from Tuesday night’s game against the Rays, though he’ll return for the final two games of the series Saturday and Sunday.

Milwaukee’s offensive surge boosted by team’s discipline
The Milwaukee Brewers are already jostling for the division lead in what could be a tightly fought division. After some significant roster moves, the Brewers’ identity was somewhat shrouded upon the beginning of the 2024 season. Would the rotation be able to carry an offense that lacked firepower in recent years? Where would the offensive development come from?

Willy Adames’ two-homer night powers Milwaukee to win
Box Score
The Milwaukee Brewers locked up a series win with a resounding 7-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
It was a well-rounded performance from the Brew Crew apart from a pair of errors. Colin Rea shut down the Rays, Willy Adames hit a pair of home runs, and nearly every starter reached base.
Rea was the focal point for much of the game. He pitched six strong innings, setting the stage for his offense to open a lead. Rea allowed just four hits and two walks as he lowered ..read more

Tyler Black bats cleanup in second MLB game
The Brewers take on the struggling Tampa Bay Rays today in the series finale after a frisky win in which Tyler Black made his major league debut. Black’s presence quickly made an impact, even earning a spot in today’s lineup as the cleanup hitter.
Black entered last night’s game as a pinch runner, so this will be his first career start. He will play first base, alongside Brice Turang, Willy Adames, and Oliver Dunn in the infield.

Three players plus Pat Murphy ejected in eventful Tuesday night matchup
Box Score
The Brewers won a Tuesday night battle with the Rays at American Family Field by a final of 8-2, but the chaos of the evening isn’t present in the box score unless you scroll down to the “Ejections” section.
The bottom of the first began with a single by William Contreras and a walk by Rhys Hoskins. With two men on, Gary Sanchez grounded into a force out at second, but he was injured while beating out the throw to first. The Brewers later reported the injury as right hamstring tightnes ..read more

Bryse Wilson pitched a strong game in the loss
Box Score
After allowing 15 runs in two straight games, the Brewers got a strong performance from Bryse Wilson and the bullpen on Monday to limit the Rays to one run. Unfortunately, the offense didn’t back them up, and a late call went against the Brewers as they dropped their third straight.
The only run of the game came in the top of the first inning. The Rays started with the bases loaded after Bryse Wilson hit Yandy Diaz to start the game, then walked two straight runners. A double play recorded the first two outs ..read more
