The Pacific Coast Business Times recently reached out for this feature article highlighting the importance of period product companies being in it for the right reasons. While I could write a full blog on this rapidly changing industry, the important thing for me now as the designer and founder of Kind Cup menstrual cups, is holding true to our ethos - our why.  Our tagline sums up why I started Kind Cup with the goal of creating a safe, reliable, effective and easy-to-use menstrual cup that is "kind to your body, the earth, and others." How Kind Cup Started
Kind Cup News & Blog
by Christine Brown

Unwavering curiosity and passion for good design led to Kind Cup The Kind Cup story begins with Christine Brown, Kind Cup designer and founder. The first menstrual cup Christine was introduced to was, oddly enough, sitting out on a friend's nightstand while they were getting ready to celebrate pride in Washington D.C. in 2011.  What started as a conversation about how menstrual cups made periods so much more convenient and sustainable, planted the seed for what would later become Kind Cup.  Dozens of new menstrual cup brands entered the market in the years following, yet a critical a ..read more

The Naked Shelves of the Period Product Aisle
Kind Cup News & Blog
by Christine Brown

I was in my local CVS last month because, let's be honest, I had a coupon that was about to expire. The entire back wall is usually stocked with brightly colored packaging, so I couldn't help but notice the naked metallic shelving from a distance. While I don't need any period products since I designed and sell a patented menstrual cup, Kind Cup, I do on occasion peek at that back wall to see what other brands are doing in this space.          While I might be an outlier as someone curious about product roll outs and ..read more

Menstrual cups are a tough category to provide Black Friday sales in. Let's be honest - it's not like our vaginas need to upgrade to the latest version of tech that big companies are trying to offload at the end of each year... our vaginas just need the best period product to do the job. Luckily, with Kind Cup, our customers experience savings, comfort, and convenience every month. Besides, we've put so much value and intention into the innovative design, quality, and overall sustainability of our product that offering a big sale means we would not be able to sustain our small, independen ..read more

Kind Cup News & Blog

The Menstrual Equity for All Act that was recently signed into law here in California is a massive step towards menstrual equity. As a former educator and college professor, supporting students in educational environments is something close to my heart.    While building the foundation of what would become Kind Cup, I'd come home after teaching eight hour days and shift my focus to designing and building Kind Cup - sometimes until 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning. I was driven by the belief that our innovative cup design had the potential to truly make a positive impact in the lives ..read more

This newly patented technology means that our reusable menstrual cup is intentionally designed to better fit the natural curves and movements of your body. Is it time to ban single-use plastics? Written by: Christine Brown & Amanda Luke Once you've seen an image of a bird or a whale with their bellies filled with plastics, it's overwhelmingly clear - humans have created a serious problem.  But did you know that we, humans, are also eating startling amounts of plastics every week in the form of microplastics? Microplastics are contaminating numerous food sources from the seafood we eat to the water we drink. “Based on a study commissioned by WWF and carried out by University of Newcastle, Australia, people are consuming about 2000 tiny p ..read more
