Today I stopped into Savage Grace Wines to pick up my wine club shipment. (Twelve amazing bottles of soon-to-be-cult status Washington wine!) Their lovely, chic and air conditioned tasting room is in the Warehouse District here in Woodinville – all the way down at the end between Simpatico Cellars and Prohibition Cellars. Last Friday we made a trip to Woodinville’s Warehouse District at for the grand opening of Alluvium Cellars’ new tasting room. We were blown away! We always rush back to Celaeno Winery whenever we run low on their wines at home. Winemaker Brian Countryman is always there, and he never ceases to make us laugh. He also is always pouring wines with some age on them in his tasting room. This visit was no exception! To start things off, we were treated to this 2020 Forever Blonde Chardonnay from Dry Lake Vineyard in Lake Chelan. We love the label art on this bottle! Tonight I’m pairing Isenhower Cellars’ 2020 “Fuga a Due” red wine from Rattlesnake Hills with my pasta dinner. This wine is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Sangiovese. On Saturday, I’ll be opening Sparkman Cellars’ 2018 “Reunion” wine with a friend who absolutely loves Washington red wines. It’s made from 92% Graciano and 8% Touriga Nacional from Snipes Mountain. We are eagerly awaiting the release of this 2021 Rosé from Callan Cellars, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It is a Rhone-style blend of Cinsault and Grenache that we cannot wait to try!
