The UK’s top curry restaurants will come together this month at the British Curry Awards – once dubbed the Curry Oscars by former Prime Minister David Cameron
The event, which takes place in London, recognises the top 12 curry restaurants in the country as chosen by the British public. This year, 12 Scottish locations are competing.
Glasgow’s Charcoals Indian Restaurant, Madras Cafe, Swadish, Obsession of India, and Mowgli Street Food are among the restaurants up for consideration in the Best Restaurant Scotland category.

They are believed to have attempted to rescue a dog before being swept into the water.
Concern about a person in the water prompted emergency personnel to respond to the site, close to Monymusk, at around 3.20 pm on Friday.
Just after six o’clock, according to accounts, the Aberdeen Coastguard stood down from the search.
