Hello! It’s Kari here with my very last post for the Hedgehog Hollow! I am sad to see these boxes end, I’ve been designing so long with them and they have been one of my favorite subscription boxes ever. It’s appropriate that my last card is a Day of the Dead card with a PANDA BEAR on it. I lost my father in 2020 the day after Christmas and I’ve been thinking about him a lot lately. His favorite animal (and my favorite animal) is a BEAR, so this card has extra meaning for me. I used some bright colors on the panda, and some bright papers from the Kit for this one. I love all the papers…and th ..read more

Hi there! As you probably already know, this month marks the last Hedgehog Hollow box. I have loved working with the box and am sad to see it go. But before it does go, we’ve got lots of inspiration for you using the awesome products from the October box. I feel like I’ve come full circle with this month’s box as the month that I started the Hedgehog Hollow Design Team, a Day of the Dead box was released (Sept 2020). Do you still have this fabulous skull die?! I do! Below is the first card that I created for Hedgehog Hollow. Step 1 Stamp the sugar skull with the flowers, the guitar and the ha ..read more

Hi! The end of the month is here…again! Today is my last post using the September Hedgehog Hollow box. And in case you didn’t already know, Alexandra has announced that the Hedgehog Hollow boxes will be discontinued. I’ll be sad to see them go! However, you can still catch lots of amazing products and inspiration over on the Maker Forte blog and shop site, so no worries! Step 1 I started this card by cutting the bat and star pattern papers to 2 ½ x 3. I then used more of the pattern paper to create a frame using a die from my stash. Step 2 The cute little ghost was then colored up with alcohol ..read more

Hi there! Jen here today on the Hedgehog Hollow Blog using the fun, cute and spooky box for the month of September. Step 1 I chose two pieces of pattern paper from the box. Both pieces of pattern paper were run through a die cut machine using two different sized scalloped square dies. The smaller piece was adhered to the top of the larger piece in a horizontal direction. Step 2 Next, the ghost image was stamped using Color Hive Black ink. The image was then colored with alcohol markers. A Scan N Cut was used to cut out the image. Step 3 A cobweb die from my stash was cut and adhered to the top ..read more

Hi there! Jen here today with my last card using the ‘Grillin and Chillin’ August Hedgehog Hollow box. Step 1 Cut a piece of watercolor cardstock to slightly smaller than 4 ¼ X 5 ½. Prep the paper with an anti static bag. Step 2 Place the cardstock in a stamping tool (or freehand it) and arrange stamps on the cardstock. To get a uniform layout, try starting at the center and work outwards or start at the bottom right hand corner and work up. Step 3 Ink up the stamps using Color Hive Clear ink and stamp onto the cardstock. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set (melt) with a heat tool ..read more

Hello! It’s Kari with a Grillin’ Ephemera Card today! Did you see all that ephemera in the August kit?! You could probably make at least 10 cards with just the ephemera and papers. Today I am using that ephemera with some papers for a delicious card. Well, the ants showed up! I chose the shish kabob and hot dog, the spatula and the baster brush for this ephemera on this card. The papers are all so great for grilling or picnic cards, too! I chose a red gingham and green polka dot paper and cut them down to fit an A2 size card. The green polka dot paper was cut to a strip. I die cut a circle fr ..read more

Hi there! Are you ready to make some fun summer cards? If so, I’ve got two ideas for you today using the ‘Grillin and Chillin’ August Hedgehog Hollow box. Card 1 Step 1 Stamp the watermelon image from the Grillin and Chillin stamp set onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using waterproof ink like Versafine black. Stamp the image several times. Step 2 Using a Red Carmine Zig Brushmarker, swipe the top of the watermelon piece. Next, using a Pink brushmarker, swipe a line of color right below the red. Next, blend the colors together with a slightly damp waterbrush. Then using the waterbrush ..read more

Hello! It’s Kari here with a couple picnic cards using the new August Kit! This kit is fabulous and full of grilling and picnic stamps, stencils, ephemera, and paper. I have a video sharing everything in the kit, as well as 2 watermelon picnic cards. Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube: I am in love with the layering stencils. Both have watermelon as a part of the stencil…one is a larger slice of watermelon, and the other has smaller watermelon slices (and ants) to use for a background. Today I just had to make TWO cards using these stencils! Card 1: Watermelon slice For this first card ..read more

Foiling Flowers Card

Hello, it’s Kari here! When I got this kit, I knew I wanted to use that sweet little daisy with some foiled flowers as well. So I created this card! How sweet are those images? I foiled up the ephemera using some summer rainbow foil first. I also foiled the dark pieces that matched, but I ended up not using those on this card. Then, I stamped the sweet daisy twice on the card panel cut down to 3.5″ x 4.75″. I also stamped the “Happy Day” sentiment down the left side of the panel using some favorite colors of ink. Using some pink ink, I blended on some color starting at the bottom of the panel ..read more
