This update isn’t as good as I had hoped. As I mentioned in the last update a few months ago I started on a new chemo, well it actually did more harm than good. It didn’t really touch the tumors. In the pet scan I had last week there has been a lot of growth in the tumor on the liver and the tumor on the breast. I don’t think I mentioned before that the tumor on my breast is a fungating tumor which means it is pretty much growing on the outside (very gross looking). It has a lot of drainage some blood and because it is sitting right next to a lymph node I am getting a lot of lymph fluid drain ..read more

It has been a while since I have done an update. I did on on the youtube channel several months ago. I will be doing an updated one hopefully today. I will do a quick overview here. I will also add my protocol at the bottom of this. In October I went to my appointment and it was decided that the chemo I was on wasn’t working anymore. They had a different chemo they wanted to start me on but we needed to wait on insurance approval. After a little over a week of waiting to hear from them they denied it.  So back to the drawing board, they then decided to put me on a pill form of chemo. It ..read more

I am doing a restart on this. I know I tried to start this in January but life kinda got in the way. This is a better time to start this since everything has settled down from the holidays. I will be posting every Thursday. (This was supposed to post last week but didn’t.) I really pondered if I should do this, this year. Last year kinda went down the tubes. I pretty much stopped posting when I got the cancer diagnosis. And the year before that I was super busy and had a bit of burn out and pretty sure I was already sick and just didn’t realize it. So I am not working right now so shou ..read more

A homemade Christmas Challenge Yes, I know it is a little early to be thinking about Christmas but if we can get a head start it will save a lot of money and stress come the holiday season. My goal this year is to have everything handmade this year. If there isn’t anything that you can make then make your list and start looking for things that are on sale. If we start now, we can make a big portion of the gifts for this Christmas. Start by making a list of whom you plan on giving gifts to. Then add what homemade gift that they would enjoy. If you work on it every week they should be done in ti ..read more

March is “National Frozen Foods Month” Most grocery stores will have sales on certain frozen foods so now is the time to stock up if what you use is on sale. Remember though don’t buy something that is on sale if it isn’t already something you use. Look for vegetables, if you don’t have a lot of freezer space you can dehydrate.   Spring cleaning, some things go on sale for spring cleaning so now is the time to stick up on cleaning supplies, including paper towels, cloth’s, garbage bags, and protective gloves.   Other things that are usually on sale in March is Luggage.   I really pondered if I should do this, this year. Last year kinda went down the tubes. I pretty much stopped posting when I got the cancer diagnosis. And the year before that I was super busy and had a bit of burn out and pretty sure I was already sick and just didn’t realize it. So I am not working right now so should have the time to keep this (and the blog) updated pretty regularly. I know inflation and shortages are crazy right now and just going to get worse. You may not be able to get all the things, so just get what you can. Every little bit helps. Also, try to do the action/ski ..read more

It has been a pretty busy month between chemo, Joleens baby shower and having company, but I was able to get some stuff canned and dehydrated. I am wanting to try and do something at least once a week if not every day. It will depend on how I feel though. I am wanting to get back in the swing of things. I have kinda slacked off because of being sick, but I think I need to keep doing what I was doing before getting the diagnosis. Although it takes me a little longer to get anything done haha. I am going to try and post how I am doing the canning/dehydrating/freezing on my YouTube channel. Here ..read more

Last weekend was so busy and so wonderful. Both the girls came home for Joleen’s baby shower. It is the first time I have seen them both at the same time in forever. Friday, I had to cancel my chemo on Friday since I had been so sick the first of the week. Which turned out to be perfect. Skyler’s parents have a hot air balloon and they were flying in Durango at the balloon rally on Friday. I have been wanting to go to one forever and finally had the opportunity. It was so amazing I got to go up, so much fun I absolutely loved it. We went to brunch afterward in Durango at a place I had n ..read more
