Since 2017, Louisville Metro Government has worked with developers to try revitalizing the vacant Urban Government Center property in the Paristown Pointe neighborhood.

Anyone who owns a rental property in Louisville, whether it’s a single-family home or an apartment complex, will need to register with Louisville Metro Government by June 1. On a recent rainy Thursday morning, outreach worker Angel Sivado got into her packed SUV. She was ready with snack bags and harm reduction tools like Narcan and fentanyl test strips for people struggling with substance use issues.

The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet released its March 2024 unemployment report.
The Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, found the unemployment rate for March at 4.5%. The commonwealth's rate of unemployment went up by 0.1% compared to last month and up 0.5% from a year ago.

Sy Kirby dreaded the thought of going to college after graduating from high school. He says a four-year degree just wasn't in the cards for him or his bank account.

It’s HISA that oversees national integrity and safety rules for Thoroughbred racing. Thayer’s resolution calls on Congress to pay all of HISA-related costs.

A new national report on preschool access shows Indiana lags behind most other states.
The National Institute for Early Education Research’s State of Preschool 2023 Yearbook ranked states based on their preschool enrollment, funding and quality. Indiana ranks among the bottom six because the report shows it doesn’t have any state preschool programs and does not do enough to make pre-K widely available.

Kentucky's primary election is May 21.(LPM)
Monday is the final day for Kentuckians to register to vote in the May 21 primary election.
People can register to vote online through the Kentucky State Board of Elections’ portal until 4 p.m. They can also register by mail as long as it’s postmarked by April 22. Louisville residents have the opportunity to fill out a voter registration form at any of the Jefferson County Clerk’s Motor Vehicle branches as part of the clerk’s Voter Registration Blitz.

The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana awarded 17 local nonprofit organizations with grants to fund programs that give back to communities in Clark County and Floyd County.
