How Wet is Your Spirit?

As we read in the Bible we see that Jesus likened his Spirit to water. When He was at the well with the Samaritan woman He told her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, along with his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone ..read more

Selah!

As I was preparing to write this month, I began to think on the work of the psalmist and man after God’s own heart, David.    At the end of several refrains in the book of Psalms there is a one-word phrase that reads, “Selah”.   That one word tells us to stop, pause and to reflect on what had just been said or to be more accurate, what had been sung or chanted.    The word selah appears 71 times in 39 verses and each time is used to drive home a point that something incredible had just been revealed and it would be good for our soul to stop, pause and think about what ..read more

As I was reading Acts 3:1-5 I was immediately drawn to verse 3, “To whom he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs”, and upon further review I found that this word ‘passion’ is used in all of scripture but once.   According to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, the word passion, ‘used only in certain tenses for it; apparently a primary verb; to experience a sensation or impression (usually painful):1’   It is important to us to understand how much it meant for Jesus to go to Calvary’s cross for us. It was not merely a single act that ended upon that cross. Jes ..read more

Is it wrong to make an informed judgment about whether a person should care for your children, have a key to your home, or be alone with your spouse? Is it wrong to judge whether a person who consistently lies should be trusted? How about a pedophile who does what they do because they, “love ..read more

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?     Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. In light of the current climate around the world ..read more
