The latest film in my Channel Members section is an in-depth rundown of each day of the Guru Festival, which saw 116 anglers competing at White Acres, down in Cornwall. Had some very good feedback from this, which is encouraging as it’s basically just me waffling for over an hour! Not a member yet? Click here to learn more ..read more

White Acres Guru Festival 2024

Just had a really nice week down at White Acres on the Guru Festival… apart from the rather fresh and bloody windy weather! I usually draw a bit rubbish on Day One so was over the moon to finally get a flyer in the shape of peg 17 on Twin Oaks. The right end of the lake and slightly more fishable than all the pegs to my left in the 40mph gusts. I’ve had an epic day catching 210lb to blitz the lake and the biggest weight of the week.  About 90lb on the method feeder with maggots and Bandum wafters, two on meat short and the rest down the edge on maggots over micros and Match Method Mix. Meadowlands Winner

Yet more wet and windy weather (and a few rainbows) at Meadowlands on yesterday’s afternoon match. Thankfully I was on peg 31 on Warren with the wind off my back, but it was still horrible! The whole lake’s really switched off so my 94lb was enough for the win. Match organiser Wayne Sharman was second with 75lb 8oz on peg 15 and Dave Roberts was 3rd with 75lb 6oz from peg 23. I had four or five on the bomb and pellet and Bandum Wafters, one short on pellet and eventually found seven down the edge on corn or maggots. Nice to get the big boy red 18-20 Slik stretched for the first time this seaso ..read more

Feeder Masters Finalist!

I qualified for the Bait-Tech Feeder Masters Final today! A cracking day at a rather windy Decoy Lakes near Peterborough, catching over 170lb of carp, F1s and carassio on peg 10 on Horseshoe Lake to win the Horseshoe/Beastie 20-man zone… and not an end peg in sight! Well done Fabian Arpaud and Steve Curtis winning the other two zones!  Nice to get the ever-faithful Horizon Pro 10ft Commercial Feeder bent double, catching with Sonubaits Fluoro Bandums and maggots over 2mm Fin Perfect micros doused with Washed Out Bait Booster. Hardest part was netting fish with the 40mph gusts!  Grea ..read more

Is My Goliath Gudgeon A Record?

Could it be a record? I thought this was a baby barbel when I netted it… but it’s a HUGE gudgeon!!! I caught it at a local farm pond yesterday on sweetcorn. The owner reckons there’s even bigger in there after he very kindly popped it on his kitchen scales. The pic doesn’t do it justice, but it weighed 5oz 14drm! Goliath the Gudgeon! Well chuffed with a micro species of a lifetime ..read more

Easter Fisho

My one and only match over the Easter holidays was the Fishomania qualifier at Tunnel Barn Farm yesterday. After feeling rough all week I was just hoping to catch a few fish! I drew peg 40 on High Pool, which isn’t the greatest of areas for a chance of qualifying, but still worth a days fishing and I’ve had a nice and busy day catching lots of small F1s. A few on meat early then got my head down on maggots shallow. I ended up with 123lb which was the best weight up my end of the lake, third out of the 25 anglers on the pool and won the section. I assumed Sam Williams won the section with 130l ..read more

Hoppy Easter!

Hoppy Easter! I’ve been rough all week, so all I’ve had the energy to do is tie 100 pole rigs and edit a new vid. It’s an extra long Live Match with almost two hours to keep you entertained… in between the Easter egg hunting! Oh, and you might also spot two of my pets making their acting debuts, so say hi to Motley and Goldie when you see them… I’ve been fed up having no energy all week, so I’ve just drawn this Easter bunny to try and cheer myself up. Praying I’m fit enough for Fishomania tomorrow as it’s my only match of the holidays and I still sound like Darth Vader! Enjoy the holidays. Sa ..read more
