When talking about money matters, experts often warn you to stay away from the stock market — I mean, can you blame them? The “ceiling” is high when it comes to the number of people who actually understand how to invest. And those who do understand usually have a strong finance or economics background. But now, that ceiling is lowering as TNG has announced GoInvest, a goal-based investment platform by partnering with Principal Asset Management Berhad.
With projected returns of up to 2.85% per annum, GoInvest offers one of the highest interest rates in th ..read more

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and felt like you were not connecting? Like you were talking to a wall? And what about those times when you meet someone new, and they give you the Death Stare? You know, where it feels like they’re looking right through you? Well, there’s a reason for that. And it has to do with the one thing called “eye contact.”
You see, when we talk to someone, we want to connect with them. We want them to understand us, and we want to understand them. Hence, for that communication to happen effectively, we need eye contact. It allows us to see the other pe ..read more

Summary:
If we look at the current state of the economy, there are signs that a recession is looming on the horizon.
We are only one negative quarter of negative Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth away from reaching falling into recession.
The stock market is likely to experience depressed stock prices during a recession, and it may take some time for prices to recover.
Investors become more risk-averse and are less likely to invest in stocks, leading stock prices to fall during a recession.
If you’re like me, then your eyes have probably been glued to the stock ticker this past week — and ..read more

You may have heard it. You may have read it. And you might even believe — Growth stocks are dead in 2022 as far as concerned! Right? After all, with the unpredictable central bank policy, rising inflation, and supply chain disruptions, it can be challenging to remain convicted in the stock market.
The graph below shows FAANG’s real revenue growth in 2022:
FAANG stocks just reported 0% real revenue growth for the first time in 20 years.
It was also the lowest nominal growth rate in over 2 decades. pic.twitter.com/KLfCBC6mVz

The U.S. stocks plunged on Friday afternoon, leading to the biggest one-day drop since 2020 after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s suggested a 50-basis-point rate hike. And while Powell’s remark may have spooked some investors, I still believe that the stock market is an excellent place to be, as explained in a separate article I wrote: Why the Fed Rate Hike Cycle Signals a Buy Opportunity, Not a Sell Signal based on the historical analysis.
While it is important to remember that no one can predict the future and the bottom, that shouldn’t stop us from trying. By analyzing past market ..read more

When the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank raised its key interest rate by a quarter percentage point last month and announced the likely scenario of two back-to-back half-point interest rate hikes in May and June 2022 to battle the runaway inflation, it sent a clear message to us investors: it’s time to get more aggressive with stocks. Yes, you heard me right. The so-called “rate hike cycle” is a well-known concept in the investing world, and it usually results in bearish sentiment for stocks. In this blog post, I’ll explain why you shouldn’t be fooled by the rate hike cycle – and why I became more b ..read more

Confidence was never my strong suit. In fact, I used to have pretty low self-confidence. I was always afraid to speak up in class, had poor body language, and was never comfortable around new people. I would constantly compare myself to others and feel like I came up short. This lack of self-confidence issues led to a lot of anxiety and insecurity.
I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere!
Here’s my story of low self-confidence and self-esteem
We all know that others often admire confident people as they possess a reassuring presence to be with. Anything that comes along their way, they face it he ..read more

There’s no escaping it. Everywhere we turn, ads try to lure us, the target audience, in with their glossy promises. And sometimes, it feels like they’re playing dirty with the audience.
But what exactly ARE these sneaky marketing tricks? And more importantly, how can we protect ourselves from these brands?
Well, let me tell a story of mine. It all started when I saw an ad for new product brands online. I must say that I’m not one to be easily fooled. I like to think that I can see through marketing tricks and gimmicks. But I was wrong. I realized that I got exploited by the sneakiest marketing ..read more

Investing is certainly not easy, and you should be worried when you start to think it is easy. Now, as we approach the beginning of April 2022, many investors are looking ahead to what the coming months might bring. After diving into the two types of stock market crashes: “bad certainty” and “uncertainty”, I wanted to take a closer look at the impact of inflation in the stock market and share a popular method I called as the “Risk-Reward Ratio” to help in making the right decision with my portfolio.
Note: The goal of this article is not about explaining the definition of inflation. Please visi ..read more

It’s ironic, really. I’m sitting here, trying to focus on my breath and be in the present moment, and all around me, people are going about their day ahead without a second thought. Phones are ringing, cars are beeping, and people are talking—it’s all so loud and overwhelming. And yet here I am, completely lost in my own little world.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate the hustle and bustle of city life- I do. I love the energy and excitement that comes with it. But sometimes, it can be a bit too much for me. That’s why I’ve started practicing mindfulness, to find some peace during all the chaos ..read more
