We are on our last month of the RBD Block Challenge! This year’s challenge has been so fun and we have super cute blocks for the last month – and then the big finish! This is the RBD Block Challenge Block 14, Inside Out Star. This fun block was designed by Melissa of Polkadot Chair, and it’s such a sweet design. I’m using my  Afternoon Tea fabrics collection for this sew-along; I was able to use several different prints and I had a great time choosing which to use. I decided to use my cross stitch prints for the centers, I love how the block really highlights them. Here are my other blo ..read more

Hello my friends! It is time for another fun sew along!! Today we have the Heartland Sew Along Kickoff – we are going to sew up my new patriotic Heartland Quilt! This quilt is going to be so fun to make together! There are waving flags with fussy cut stars and easy-to-piece flying geese (that rhymes haha). We will break down each part of the quilt and I will be sewing through the blocks to make assembly simple! Here is the schedule for the sew along. I’ll be sewing along with my Sweet Freedom fabrics (though you can use any fabrics you’d like). You can find Sweet Freedom in shops now, as wel ..read more

Can you believe we’re on the RBD Block Challenge Block 13?? This year’s sew along has been amazing! This week’s block is the Garden Patch block from Minki Kim. This sweet block is fast and fun to sew! It has a great style, and you can use several fabrics or just a few. This cute block would be a great addition to the back of a quilt, a runner, or even a jean jacket! I’m using my Afternoon Tea fabrics for the quilt and my Dainty Daisy Peony on Cloud low volume as the background. For this block, I chose the blue floral main as the corners, the coral sketches as the bars and ..read more

We have a fabulous new block in the Riley Blake sew along! This is the RBD Block Challenge Block 12 called Flip Flopped! Isn’t this a fun block? I love the design – those open triangles just point at the center and really set it off! I just had to fussy cut a little teacup for the center! This block is called Flip Flopped and it was designed by Sandy Gervais. I’m using my Afternoon Tea fabrics for the quilt and my Dainty Daisy Peony on Cloud low volume as the background. For this block, I chose the pink floral and the green cross-stitch floral, and I used the sketched pr ..read more

It is time for a new block in the Riley Blake Designs Mystery Quilt! This is the RBD Block Challenge Block 11, designed by Amber Johnson! This new block is called Square Peg, and it’s such a fun one to sew! It also has lots of fun print options. I’m using my Afternoon Tea fabrics for the quilt and my Dainty Daisy Peony on Cloud low volume as the background. I chose the dark red from the collection as the center blocks, and I love how they stand out against the lighter pinks and greens. Here are my other blocks in the series so far. RBD Block Challenge Block 1  ..read more

We are starting to sew our Vintage Stars quilts together this week! This is the Vintage Stars Sew Along Sewing Rows week, and we’ll be putting together all those cute triangle and half hexie pieces we cut last week. We have been working on my Vintage Stars Quilt pattern for the last couple of weeks! Last week, we cut out our pieces, and this week, we are starting to sew together the rows. This quilt is assembled a little differently than a regular quilt – we don’t sew together blocks; we sew together rows. It’s a fun way to assemble the quilt, and it also makes it easier to get these fun desi ..read more

I have a fun new mini quilt to share! This cute little quilt is a smaller version of Jennifer Long’s Through the Woods Quilt! Jennifer of Sew a Story has a darling new booklet out called Through the Woods! The booklet includes all the instructions on how to make the fabulous quilt on the cover plus how to make the sweet people blocks into pillows. It’s such a fun take on the Little Red Riding Hood story. Jennifer is having a book tour to celebrate the release of her book and I’m so happy to join in! I don’t have any littles to make the quilt for, but I had the fun idea to make a mini quilt u ..read more

We are sewing up another portion of our fun Lori Holt quilts this week – this is the Quilted Witch Sew Along Broom Block! Last week we made up the broomstick and boots for our cute witch – this week we are finishing out the broom with this cute little curly broom section. It has fun little flying geese on it too – I love the way they accent the broom. I’m using my Riley Blake Designs’ basic, Dainty Daisy for this quilt. For this portion of the broom I used the butterscotch color and the flying geese are the Honey colorway. The background of this quilt is my low volume Dainty Daisy ..read more

Can you believe we’re already at the RBD Block Challenge Block 10? I am LOVING this year’s blocks in this free mystery quilt along, and this week’s block is no exception! This week we have the Time Waits for No One block from Karen Walker. All those little hourglass blocks are just the cutest! They look like a lot of work, but they go together really quickly. On the RBD Version of the block they use two colors for the mini hourglass blocks, but I wanted a little softer look so I used my background fabric and one print instead. I think it really lets the print fabric pop! Here are my other bl ..read more
