Hello, I'm Brittany. I had a dream that I could create my own unique vibe in the world of quilting. I released my first quilt pattern in the fall of 2017, which was truly the start of Lo & Behold Stitchery. Through unique quilt patterns, thoughtfully curated fabric ideas, and quilting education we aim to inspire, empower and encourage others to create beauty in the world through the art of..

The 2025 Kona Color of the Year is HERE!
I can't believe it's already time for a new Kona Color of the Year (COTY)! It literally feels like we were talking about the 2024 Kona COTY, am I right?? But this year, I was SO excited to learn that the 2025 COTY is a purple. Jackpot!
If you aren't familiar, Robert Kaufman releases a limited edition Kona Color every year, and it's always fun to see what colors and tones they add to their already impressive library of 365 solids. This is the fourth Color of the Year (COTY) quilt that I've made for Robert Kaufman, and I really enjoy this project every t ..read more

This blog post is a little different from our typical topics of discussion, but it is super relevant and important, nonetheless. You might recall our Quilt Drive a few months ago that we held for Helene survivors in our local community. Our town of Black Mountain, North Carolina and the surrounding region, as a whole, was devastated by flooding, landslides and downed trees. They're actually saying that we saw a 1,000 year flood which was not only caused by record-breaking rainfall, but was amplified by the topography of our land and mountains. We received more than our yearly annual rain ..read more

I recently finished my third Knitted Blooms sample and I'm so excited to share it with you all! If you recall, the Cover Knitted Blooms quilt is more of a rustic, autumn vibe. Then the Hydrangea Knitted Blooms sample is more vibrant and punchy. I love both, but for this quilt, I wanted it to have a modern Christmas-y vibe, similar to the Cover Upscale Plaid quilt. With the addition of a caramel color, I think this quilt is certainly something that you could leave out year-round, not just for the holidays. Without further ado, let's jump in!
For this quilt, I made the Large Throw size, which i ..read more

Knitted Blooms quilt pattern is now available! If you missed it, visit this blog post to find all the details about the pattern!
I'm back to share about another Knitted Blooms sample and this one is quite different from the cover! I've joked that I've had a "fabric crush" on Art Gallery Fabrics Hydrangea for the entire year and I've been itching to use it in my quilts recently. I don't know what it is about this shade, but it's the most stunning shade of periwinkle that I've ever seen! It's a bit of an unusual color, kind of a mis-fit if you will. It's not quite blue, not quite purpl ..read more

I am beyond excited to share that the NEW Knitted Blooms quilt pattern is NOW available!
This feels like an incredible milestone for me and team Lo & Behold. As you might know, we just passed the 2 month mark form Helene wreaking havoc on our little mountain town, which I wrote about here. I have moments where I sit and reflect on what the last 2 months of recovery have looked like and I'm in awe of so many things. Immediately after the storm, we were stranded and terrified and very much in survival mode for at least three weeks. No power, no water, no internet, no cell ..read more

Suzy Quilts has done it again with a beautiful fabric collection! Earlier this year, I made an Upscale Plaid Quilt with her Duval collection, so when I saw her newest collection, Evolve, I felt inspired to make something with it too! I love how the two collections have completely different colors, but blend beautifully together & complement each other so well.
I decided to use Evolve in one of my most versatile, beginner friendly patterns, Celtic Crossing 2.0. Celtic Crossing 2.0 is one of my earliest pattern designs, but is one that I always come back to! It's perfect fo ..read more

I'm excited to be back with another version of Valley Song, one I like to call Summer Nights. If you've not seen my other versions of Valley Song, check out the Cover Quilt and Coyote Hill samples! I love how this pattern allows for so many fabrics to be chosen, it's one of my favorite parts of the quilting process. We all want a reason to shop for more fabric...right?!
When creating mock-ups for pattern release, I always love to have a two quilts that are "sisters". Typically one is warmer colors while the other has cooler colors, but it is so fun to see how changing just a few colors c ..read more

One of the things I love most about making pillowcases is being able to customize each one by picking out fabrics that reflect our own (or the recipient's) personal style. We have different pillowcase sets to mark the changing seasons and to celebrate different holidays. It's a such a fun little extra touch for our bedroom decor that otherwise doesn't change too much throughout the year!
Over the years gifting them also marks the beginning of the holiday season in my family; its become a tradition that everyone looks forward to. I have 29 to make in the next ..read more
