What makes an average guy? Kids, wife, house, decent job, all the things society says we should have. Now, what makes an extraordinary guy? The best example is the lads of Dream Of A Man In Top Hat. Comprising the sensational skills of ex-Native Tongue members Lee Leffler and Michael Frackleton, and you have a duo of extraordinary gentlemen. Known for their involvement in the 80s post-punk band Native Tongue, Lee and Michael could be considered veteran musicians; but this doesn’t mean they’re stuck in walking chairs with hearing aids. Nope, they’re taking on the post-punk/psychedelic young ‘un ..read more

Nowadays, there are so many genres and sub-genres one can become confused when trying to define any music. Then again, should good music be defined? In the case of Irish duo MOVMENT, it is clear they are not to be pigeon-holed. Formed by the original members of Raw Novembre, MOVMENT has transitioned from mixtures of electro-rock to emo, indie-rock, punk and post-punk…I told you they were genre-defying. Featured on The Wild Honey Pie, Music On The Moon, Unxined, The Other Side Reviews and various other press, the band is turning the heads of people across the globe – pretty cool since they only began North Ship this year. While it can be argued that musician Mike Lee founded Letting Up Despite Great Faults in 2006, the full line-up seems to have as time progressed. Beginning in Los Angeles, California, Mike Lee and Kent Zambrana (bass) found each other via Craigslist. Upon moving to Austin, Texas, the duo met with Annah Fisette (guitar, keys and vocals) and Daniel Schmidt (drums) to become a four-piece. Beginning with acoustic sounds in the early 2000s, Letting Up Despite Great Faults adopts a dreamier, smoother and more dream-pop melody in their tunes. The latest addition to their discography is ‘Gemini’. Hav ..read more

The brainchild of singer-songwriter and producer Angelo Pitone, Of Shadows and Lights has a unique fusion of classic and indie rock. Incorporating elements of synth-based post-punk, Angelo seems to have found the unique balance of psychedelic and aggressive sounds in his music. Compared to the likes of Muse, Dave Gahan, Noel Gallagher, Palaye Royale and Nothing But Thieves, this Italian musician seems to bring the sounds of the 70s/80s to contemporary society. Featured on The Other Side Reviews, Indie Dock Music Blog, Thoughts Words Actions, Rockit, Fruit Sonics, YMX and tons of radio stations ..read more
