It was with some trepidation that I got on the train to the NEC. I’d never been there before and had no real idea of what to expect at the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Show and added to that was the fact that I would also be speaking at the event! I needn’t have worried though because from the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease. It was fantastic to finally meet in person the wonderful people who work so hard to raise awareness through the Dyscalculia Network: Cat, Rob, Peter and Emily. It was also great to meet the other tutors and assessors that I had also only ever seen online, as wel ..read more

Seeing the words ‘Dyscalculia Show’ in bold purple next to the ‘Dyslexia Show’ was an emotional moment for me. Altho ..read more

The School Years  I am 42 and have struggled with maths for as long as I remember. I recall being taking out for maths when I was little and even crying about it then and it’s like it’s stayed with me. I have always found that I’ve needed to be shown things a few times and I taught myself in school that it was best to keep quiet as I just at times couldn’t grasp things. The thing that has stayed the most with me in my yo ..read more

Number Line 4 in a Row By Karen Go Soco This game is quick to set up and gives practise of placing numbers appropriately on a numberline, an activity which some learners can find difficult.
