Parkour is a physically demanding sport involving a lot of running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, and jumping. Like any other sport or athletic activity, what you wear can make a huge difference in your performance. Though parkour is typically more laid-back in terms of attire and doesn’t require any special uniform, it still pays to ensure that your clothing provides for the utmost comfort, a wide range of movement, and the right flexibility and weight to boost your confidence so you can unleash your full potential while avoiding injuries. There are no set rules to what you should wear ..read more

Parkour is such a physically engaging and demanding activity that it’s hard to imagine where digital technology can fit in. However, the two worlds can and do intersect in more ways than you may think. For example, many video games like Mirror’s Edge feature various parkour mechanics as part of their gameplay. Video game developers draw inspiration from flashy, superfluous movements featured in parkour and incorporate them into their respective games for a more engaging and innovative take on in-game movement. Aside from helping innovate movement and gameplay in video games, however ..read more

Real Parkour isn’t what Parkour.com posts on our Instagram and Facebook channels. Parkour is a training method, and that method is rooted in overcoming obstacles in the natural and urban environments. Even David Belle’s original videos like “Speed Air Man” weren’t really Parkour. They WERE Parkour in the sense that they were him demonstrating Parkour at the highest level. They WEREN’T Parkour in the sense that they were more so him demonstrating his abilities gained from the Parkour training method. The 5-part “Parkour History” series which surfaced on YouTube in 2012 (filmed circa 1995) which ..read more

When it comes to limits, physics can feel like a restriction. We don’t know what the actual limitations are for the human body because of a simple fact: We’re all different. Unique from body types, gate, mental ability and a huge array of other factors. These differences mean a real template for anyone’s abilities can’t be found. The greatest advantage of this is that our minds are free to search forwards because there is only one way of finding our limits. I mean, how often have you felt that you were doing something beyond your limits, only to find out that it was within your capacities? All ..read more

Seems strange to review one by itself, but the rest in one. What I’ll be doing is reviewing them twice at a time. For example I will be reviewing 2 and 3 together, and then move on to 4 and 5. It will make sense as we get into the analysis and review. Plus there have been a lot of videos coming out recently that I’d like to talk about. Meaning I’d like to get this out of the way while still trying to do each analysis/review of each video some sort of justice. Cavemen 2 Cavemen 2 Cavenmen 2 was the start of their short lived “black and white” era. I call it an era because Cavemen 3 is also mos ..read more

Part 1 of a 5 part series looking back at “Cavemen” one of the longest running video series in parkour. To celebrate the new release of Cavemen 5 by Storror, staring Max and Benj Cave, I figured it would be fun to look back at the very first one and see what ended up making this one of the longest running video series in parkour. Starting with an analysis of what the video entails, as well as a review to see if it stands the test of time. Most video reviews I will be posting from this point forward will have an analysis beforehand. And just so we are all on the same page, this is merely my opi ..read more

Slinky Landings

Landings are a difficult concept in Parkour, and maximizing our ability to land is one of the greatest assets a Traceur can have. There might be some different opinions when it comes to what is the best method. I’m not interested in winning that popularity contest. I am interested in putting a new idea out into the world, so here goes. Slinky landings. Recently I decided to watch a slinky falling in slow motion. This triggered a thought: If landing was like a dropping slinky or spring, then while I’m in mid-air would my feet act like the lowest point of the slinky? Per the video, the lowest p ..read more
