The more you practice, the steadier you’ll become. In this workshop, we’ll explore wide-ranging poses that target different types of balance. You’ll try balancing on your pelvis (Navasana), foot and hand (Vasistasana), one leg (Virabhadrasan ..read more

In Restorative Yoga with Wall Ropes we are held, suspended, stabilized and lifted up like a marionette puppet. Support from ropes and props allows us to find repose as we extend the spine, wring and rinse the hips, and invert the body (to your comfort – from slight to complete inversion). Restorative Iyengar Yoga with the support of wall ropes allows for longer holdings which bring deeper benefits to muscle, joint, circulation and emotional balance. The Yoga Rope Wall was developed by BKS Iyengar. Guruji was inspired by ancient pictures of Yogi’s hanging in ropes from trees. The practice is often referred to as Kurunta Yoga. Guruji’s sense of curiosity and creativity has brought about the use of a variety of props, ropes included, that has allowed us to explore and access our bodies in ways unimagined. The ropes work by using gravity as a natural form of resistance allowing the body to open and achieve a deeper asana. Many categories of asana will be explored in the workshop to enable the student to attain accuracy, agility, balance and c ..read more
