Ya know... bad decisions make good stories! This week we finally manage to tear ourselves away from the white sand beaches of Bahia Concepcion, heading off into the desert in search of something incredible we’ve heard is hidden in the remote canyons of Baja. But soon into the trip, we realise we might have bitten off more than we can chew ..read more

From Louisiana to New Mexico in one fell swoop! After months of racing our van across the USA and trying to see everything we could en route, we've decided it's time to change how we do things. Rushing through to tick places off a list isn't making us happier travellers. It's making us wish we had longer to explore places along the way. And then we ask ourselves, well why not ..read more

This is it!! As far south as we go on the eastern side of the States before we begin our long drive west. It's been getting hotter and hotter as we get closer to the tip of Florida, and it was about time we hit the city lights of Miami. We had visions of Miami being a crazy busy city, with lots of sunshine and bikini bodies. We were right on two of those counts! ? ? ? We did know however, that Miami isn't particularly van or dog friendly. So we had a mission on our hands. Find a free, stealth camp in Miami ..read more

What We Really Think of The DEEP SOUTH (Our First Time in South Carolina) USA Van Life

We've made it to the swamps and alligators of the Deep South! We've come a long way from Nova Scotia, our point of landing for the American continent. Cotton fields fill our windows now and we're slowly catching up with the winter sun as the days get warmer and warmer. Congaree National Park is where the famous firefly show happens every June, and we explore the marshy, swampy forest floor (and what lives in it). The roads are lined with moss-draped oak trees, plantation manors are sprinkled across the landscape and Charleston is something else entirely ..read more

With winter closing in we escape the chaos of the North East and make our way into the Southern States. More specifically, North Carolina. We find a string of islands called the Outer Banks, discovering a world of wild horses, shipwrecks, Blackbeard the Pirate, a colony that disappeared without a trace and if th ..read more
