Gonorrhoea infections are increasing in the UK, especially in men. There is evidence that there are changes in the type of sex people are having and who with, for example having multiple relationships. Researchers from University College London are trying to understand how men who have been diagnosed with gonorrhoea might feel about a new technique to help doctors and nurses make decisions about treatment and care. Public Health England’s stats on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in England for 2018 show that Black people continue to be disproportionately affected by poor sexual health. Public Health England has published new guidance to support commissioners, providers and third sector organisations in developing interventions for improved sexual health and well-being among Black Caribbean communities. The population rates of sexually transmitted infection (STI) diagnoses are highest among people of Black ethnicity in England. This however varies considerably among Black ethnic groups.
