I first heard about Corinne's books just before Christmas 2023 through a Tik Tok video from someone who shared about Forbidden Hearts, the first book in the Whitlock Family series, and I knew I had to read it. As soon as it came in the mail, I started reading and from page 1, I was hooked! I ordered the second book in the series the next day, and preordered the third as soon as it was available. I've since read the entire Whitlock series, and I started the Salvation series. Needless to say, from the moment I started reading Forbidden Hearts, I knew I would read every books published by Corinn ..read more

Say You Still Love Me by K. A. Tucker

This was my first K. A. Tucker book, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. From the beginning, I loved how it was a dual timeline from when Piper and Kyle first fell in love, and when they reconnected years later. While they are both different people now, Piper’s feelings for Kyle are still the same. I loved how Piper was a strong female character fighting to prove she was just as capable as the males in the company.    I loved the main characters as well as the people that Piper surrounded herself with. It reminded me of summer camps when I was younger. If you’r ..read more

The Paris Widow by Kimberly Belle Review

This is one I was excited to dive into. I’ve read a few Kimberly Belle books, and they were all excellent, so I had high hopes with this one. The synopsis looked promising, and while it was an interesting story, I thought it lacked some punch. There were no twists and turns like other books by this author. I was looking for the WOW moment to happen, but even the ending wasn’t spectacular. I still binged read it in a weekend, and I will read her future work. I did skim through some of the art antiquity stuff, but with well-developed characters and an atmospheric setting, it sure will keep r ..read more

The Switch by Lily Samson Review

I was excited to dive into the switch after reading the synopsis. We had a day off at work and was looking forward to spending the day bundled up in a blanket with a good book. It started as a real page-turner and it really looked like it would be this intense thriller that would keep you turning the page, but unfortunately, I quickly lost interest. There was promise of a shocking, seductive, and scandalous novel, but it did not do it for me. I was waiting for the big twists that were promised and I only found it quite long and dragging. It did pick up after “the switch”, but it still was ..read more

I've always been a fan of Romance novels, with Nicholas Sparks being my all time favorite author. No matter how hard I looked, I could never find another author that gave me the same feelings as Nicholas Sparks did, until I discovered Corinne Michaels a few months ago. I started reading her Whitlock Family series and right from page one of Forbidden Hearts, I was hooked. I immediately dived into book 2 of the series, Broken Dreams, and I cannot wait to read book 3, Tempting Promises, which will be released on February 22nd, 2024. Corinne Michaels has revealed the gorgeous covers ..read more

Book #18 | My Child is Missing | Lisa Regan | Bookouture | Pub: September 8, 2023 | Pages: 366 Book #18 in the Josie Quinn Series. I can’t believe I’ve read 18 Josie Quinn books! I’m definitely a huge fan of the series, however, I’m sad to say this one wasn’t my favourite. Don’t get me wrong, this series continues to be interesting and enjoyable, I might just be getting tired of the police procedural genre as it took me a while to read this book while I usually devour these books in a couple of days. In this one, Josie is still struggling with her past and demons, but sh ..read more

The Guest | B.A. Paris | St. Martin's Press | Pub: February 20, 2024 | Pages: 320 I’m so sad to say this was my least favorite B.A. Paris book. I’m a hugeee B.A. Paris fan and I read/will keep reading everything she puts out, but this one was just not for me. I found the plot to be intriguing, yet I kept wanting more. I kept getting confused about who was who due to the many characters who all felt identical. Undoubtedly, this would be considered a domestic thriller. The lengthy epilogue is where the reader learns what has been happening throughout the entire novel, and I admit I ..read more

Harper Adams #1 | Little Girl Vanish | Denise Grover Swank | DGS | Pub: June 20, 2023 | Pages: 385 I absolutely devoured and adored the Carly Moore series by Denise Grover Swank so I had to read this new Harper Adams series without a doubt! I had heard it would feature Skeeter Malcolm and I was excited, but it actually took me a while to figure out James Malcolm was Skeeter.  I was pretty happy though to learn more about James Malcom (a.k.a Skeeter), and I really loved Harper Adams as well, so I’m very interested in reading the rest of the series. I can see loads of character ..read more

Beneath Dark Waters | Karen Rose | Berkley | Pub: August 15, 2023 | Pages: 592 Trigger Warning: PTSD, Child Abuse, Torture, Rape Book #2 in the New Orleans Series. However, this book can be read as a standalone. Some of the characters from Book #1 make a comeback but there are no spoilers or anything. I would say this one is a slow burn, especially compared to the Sacramento Series (which I adore!) but it does pick up near the end and I couldn’t put the book down. In good Karen Rose fashion, I loved the characters and loved that they always become a little family hub! We briefly heard about ..read more
