The Bargain Spot, owed by Cynthia Vidal, donated over 1,000 toothbrushes, toothpastes, combs, and even food to the Christian Care Center’s Benevolence Center. As if that was not enough, Cynthia’s business also gave a check for $150. We are so blessed to have a community that loves to partner with us, so that we can continue to be a blessing to those who need it the most. If you are in need of food, clothing, or household items, please come visit our Benevolence Center at 118 North 14th Street or call 352-787-5289 ..read more

Rachel Caruso, Assistant Director of the Pregnancy & Family Care Center says, “I love walking around the corner (at the PFCC) and finding this! Through a Child’s Eyes
Christian Care Center Blog
by Kathy Salerno, Samaritan Inn Director

Jesus said, “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them. For the kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children” (Matthew 19:14). One of our Samaritan Inn children drew this precious picture when his Sunday School teacher asked his class to draw a picture of their home. Oh, through the eyes of child…seeing this little one’s beautiful drawing of his home reminds us that Samaritan Inn doesn’t just exist to be God’s means to Biblically transform the lives of single moms and dads, or married couples. Yet, we also exist to lead children to Jesus so that they can experience “ho ..read more

Our ladies have had the wonderful opportunity to engage with others, learn God’s Word, and apply it to their lives when attending the “Pressing On” Bible study (led by Mark Thompson on Sunday mornings at FBC Leesburg Downtown). Mark is a gifted teacher, and his wife Alicia certainly has the gift of hospitality. The Thompsons are longtime friends of the Women’s Care Center, and they truly make the ladies feel loved and welcomed. There is always a sweet time of fellowship while sharing praise reports and prayer requests prior to class. Mark always brings coffee and snacks. The entire class ha ..read more

Recently, we had a visit from Ryan Daniel who is part of “ProverbsGuys Ministries.” Ryan has had a heart for the Christian Care Center and that interest was certainly ignited when he visited for a Christmas Stroll tour years ago. Although he has moved away from Lake County, he enjoys the return home and always looks for an opportunity to catch up. This latest visit was no different. Stopping by on a Saturday afternoon, Ryan was able to take a look at all of the changes that had taken place at the Women’s Care Center. Walking in, is like coming home. You can certainly feel God’s presence and a ..read more

Learned Behaviors
Christian Care Center Blog

“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me” (1 Corinthians 13:11) One thing we all have in common is learned behaviors, whether good or bad, from our family or from life itself that we have all picked up lessons from in our past.  Some of these things have seemed helpful in the past but are now a stumbling block for growth.  Many of our families here at the Samaritan Inn have faced various traumas and have developed coping mechanisms, an identity, and a worldview that threate ..read more

Jessy had her first encounter with God while sitting in jail. She knew she was ready for a change. She knew her way had not worked. She knew these things but didn’t know what to do from there. After being released it took several more months for Jessy to begin following God’s lead. After going to her family’s house late one night, they suggested the Women’s Care Center the next morning. Although they went to First Baptist Paisley and lived in Altoona, the Women’s Care Center had the reputation of changing lives and Jessy knew that was exactly what she needed. They made the short trip to Leesbu ..read more

It's Not All Fun and Games

It's not all fun and games at the Samaritan Inn, but we have our fair share! Recently, we were blessed with a pizza party by the Villages women's pickleball group. What started as a great dinner party with Piesanos pizza, soon became a great social event. This group had it on their hearts to simply provide a meal and share their love with our families, but the good times didn’t stop there. Soon it spilled out into our pavilion for cake and ice cream… and from there the games began! If you or your group has it in your heart to share love with us, we would love to have you.  Please contac ..read more

The diapers are being donated in memory of his late wife, Julie Clay, as she was an active volunteer at the Pregnancy & Family Care Center.
