Hello everyone!
I hope this month is filled with joy, safety, and happiness! As you all know, I also have a
passion for making delicious cocktails at home. My inspiration comes from various sources, including cookbooks, favorite restaurants, and the amazing people in my life. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit New York City to support my best friend, Lilly, as she ran the
NYC marathon. It was an incredible experience, and today's cocktail is dedicated to her and the memories we made together.
St Germain Liqueur's elderflower flavor is her favorite, and so today we are going to create a ..read more

Congratulations to all the chef and restaurant winners at the 2023 James Beard Awards!
In June, I had the privilege of attending the Chef and Restaurant Awards for the third consecutive year (excluding the COVID years) at the Lyric Opera in Chicago. The event was co-hosted by Esther Choi, Eric Adjepong, Gail Simmonds, and Andrew Zimmeern. Picture below is Andrew Zimmeern and Chris Bianco.
As always, it was an evening filled with emotions for everyone present, as receiving this award is arguably the highest honor in the American restaurant industry.

We were living in Arizona but traveling often to Ohio for work. It was a Sunday morning, and we were watching a baking competition show on the Food Network, immediately spotted “the pastry chef from Columbus” and started rooting for him. His name is Aaron and I met him a couple years later at a tasting dinner he hosted in a restaurant he used to lead the Pastry Program at.
Right now, I’m enjoying dinner with him. Aaron invited me to hang out at the Friends and Family soft launch event of Agni, the new restaurant of Chef Avishar in the German Village.
Pastry Chef Aaron is passionate, experience ..read more

When we moved to Columbus, everyone was talking about trying to get on the list of Roy’s Ave Supper Club and I was -of course- intrigued. As everybody else, I sent an email to get a spot and then COVID hit.
Earlier this year my husband and I had the opportunity to experience the Supper Club, in February 2023 to be exact. The experience was a tasting menu in a communal, beautiful, and wonderfully cozy space. The food? Balanced. Complex. Layered. Sophisticated. Mindful. Extremely flavorful.
Chef Andrew’s dishes are fresh, innovative and will even make you emotional at times. This article is the ..read more

Just before COVID hit the world, our friends Laila and Harvey introduced us to what immediately turned into our favorite Modern Indian restaurant in the Midwest; and this place is called ROOH and it is currently operated by Chef Yash Kishinchand.
Chef Yash is one of the most creative Pastry Chefs in Columbus and even when he is probably the youngest too; his motivation and talent is one we all need to look up to.
This article is the second delivery of my “4 Chefs to look out for in Columbus Ohio this 2023” blog series, an effort to spotlight my favorite Chefs in town.
I hope you enjoy.

This article is the starting point of my “4 Chefs to look out for in Columbus Ohio this 2023” blog series and today I am having a conversation with Matt Harper, head chef Comune Restaurant located on the edge of German Village.
Comune was the first restaurant in Columbus where my husband and I felt like home. We found our place and to our surprise, it was a vegetable driven spot. We’ve had dates and celebrated a New Year here; an always evolving menu, and always surprising food.
I want to start this Blog Series with a Chef that is running one of my favorite kitchens in town.
I hope you enjoy ..read more

A friend from Monterrey, México took us to this restaurant a few years ago where we tried a VERY spicy but also VERY sweet salsa that we ended up using for every single dish they served. This is my closest attempt and it is GOOD!
This one is very easy to put together and I know habaneros can be scary but give this one a chance, it is till HOT but in the most sweet way.
Ingredients
The flesh of one full pineapple, roughly chopped
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
3 habanero chiles (remove seeds if you want this less hot, I kept them)
2 dried Chile de árbol
1 cup chicken stock or bone broth
1 cup ..read more

How about a dry month, anyone?
You know me and I’m all in for a good cocktail on a Friday afternoon and now that a good amount of people did “dry January” I thought I should give “Dry February” a try but not without having some ammunition first.
Today I’m making Alcohol-Free gin, one you can use to mix with sparkling water, lemonade or hibiscus water and still feel you’re having a cocktail just without the buzz.
Why gin? Well, not only because it’s the easiest to make as the real gin in just infused alcohol! But because it is versatile and a crowd pleaser in my book.
