Rivian has promised free NACS adapters will be sent out to its owners, and it’s starting that process now.
Rivian officially got access to Tesla’s Supercharger network last month, but in order to use it, non-Tesla cars need an adapter. Most other EVs come with a CCS plug, but Tesla’s plug is now called NACS, after it opened its charge standard in 2022.

Construction giant Skanska has been awarded a contract to turn the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal into one of the US’s largest offshore wind ports.
Skanska’s $861 million critical infrastructure offshore wind hub project in Brooklyn will support the 2.1 gigawatt (GW) Empire Wind project, which Equinor is currently developing 15 to 30 miles off New York. It will feature 147 turbines and be capable of powering over 1 million households.

After Kia’s first three-row electric SUV is already seeing strong demand, the EV9 is set to gain a high-performance GT version. Kia confirmed the EV9 GT will launch in January with “enormous power” and other upgrades.

Kia launched its flagship EV9 in Korea last June. In less than a month, Kia sold over 1,334 EV9 models and another 1,251 in July.
After announcing US prices start at $54,900, Kia called the EV9 a “wake-up call” to the industry. In the first three months of 2024, Kia has sold over 4,000 EV9s in the US.

Even as the car market is estimated to grow at a low single digit, R C Bhargava, the chairman of Maruti Suzuki said the company will try to grow by double digits in FY-25.
Speaking to the media post FY-24 earnings call, Bhargava said, he is optimistic about the outlook for 24-25. He believed that the new government will have a very good base to grow from.

In a bid to reduce the carbon footprint, Maruti Suzuki is transporting more vehicles from its plants through the railway. The automaker transported around 25 percent of its vehicles through the railway in the last financial year.
“We reached the highest ever transportation by railways at about 4.5 lakh cars,” Maruti Suzuki Chairman R C Bhargava said today while speaking to reporters post the 2023-24 earnings announcement.

Mazda unveiled two new EVs, the EZ-6 electric sedan and the Arata SUV, at the Beijing Auto Show. Although Mazda’s new EVs are for China, they are what the brand is missing in the US.
Mazda’s first EV in the US, the MX-30, was discontinued after only 66 models were sold last year. It was only on the market for about two years.
The MX-30 was clearly a compliance vehicle, sold only in small numbers in California. Now, there are zero all-electric Mazda’s sold in the US. Despite the lack of success in the US, Mazda looks to take on the world’s largest EV market.
