Gavin Freeman, an Oklahoma native, will stay in-state to continue his college career. After Freeman entered the portal early last week, he wasted no time landing on his feet. He committed to Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sunday morning.
Freeman fulfilled his dream by playing football for the University of Oklahoma, just as his father, Jason Freeman, did. Still, with the Sooners looking to gear up for the SEC and adding an NFL-caliber slot receiver in Deion Burks, the sophomore saw his snaps and opportunities diminishing and opted to seek out opportunities elsewhere.

The Oklahoma Sooners have been a part of some high-profile recruitments over the years. During the spring transfer portal season, the Sooners were in the thick of another high-profile recruitment for defensive tackle Damonic Williams. Oklahoma won out in the battle, beating out the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and Missouri Tigers in the process.
It’s a significant addition for a Sooners squad that’s improved at defensive tackle, but lacks a ton of production or experience. With Williams, the Sooners upgraded their defensive line and it looks like a strength for the defense moving into their f ..read more

Since Brent Venables arrived to Norman, one of the top priorities has been to get bigger in the trenches. In particular on the defensive side of the football. Transitioning from Alex Grinch’s “Speed D” to what is needed to contend in the SEC. To that end, the Oklahoma Sooners have landed one of the top defensive tackles in the nation via the transfer portal, Damonic Williams.
Williams, who began his career at TCU, is the prototypical nose tackle. He’s got great size, strength, and quickness to be a force in the middle of a defensive line. He’s played a ton in his two years ..read more

The Oklahoma Sooners 2024 NFL draft class was one of their lightest this millennium. The last time they had just three players selected on draft weekend was back in 2007. That was the year Adrian Peterson was a top 10 pick by the Minnesota Vikings.
Tyler Guyton earned a first round selection by the Dallas Cowboys and Walter Rouse and Jonah Laulu heard their names called later in the draft.
Part of the reason they had just three players selected this year was due to the returns of defensive standouts Danny Stutsman, Billy Bowman, Woodi Washington, and Da’Jon Terry. Well, those four guys, plus ..read more
