Skanska has signed the final award with SBMT Asset for the upgrade of the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, worth approximately $612 million. The project, set to turn the terminal into a dedicated offshore wind port and support Empire Wind, will be included in the company’s U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of this year. The company says the award will facilitate existing building demolition, dredging of new and existing berths, bulkhead upgrades and installation of new wharf and dock facilities. RWE and Masdar have awarded Fugro a contract to undertake geotechnical surveys on the site of the Dogger Bank South (DBS) West offshore wind farm. DBS comprises two separate sites, DBS East and DBS West located on Dogger Bank, located 100 km off England’s North East coast. RWE is leading both project developments who are slated to deliver project development, construction and operations on behalf of the partners RWE with a 51% share and Masdar with a 49% share. ERG, through its subsidiary ERG USA, has acquired a 75% portfolio stake from Apex Clean Energy that includes one wind farm and one solar power plant in the U.S. Both projects are operational, says the company, with a total installed capacity of 317 MW and an estimated production of approximately 1 TWh. Ørsted has inaugurated the 900 MW Greater Changhua 1 and 2a projects in Taiwan, which are now both operational and connected to the grid. The $9.8 billion Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project has completed its federal environmental permitting review and authorizations with assistance from the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council.
