We are pleased to confirmed the long-awaited return of our Diesel Gala from 14-16 June 2024. Our first confirmed Diesel Gala guest locomotive is Deltic No. 55009 ‘Alycidon’, courtesy of the Deltic Preservation Society (DPS). During this visit, No. 55009 is painted and numbered in the guise of long-scrapped Deltic No. 55013 ‘The Black Watch’. (Main Image: Alex Stojanovic). We are pleased to announce that we will be working with US based railroad engineering and mechanical contractor, FMW Solutions (FMW) to convert the historic and iconic steam locomotive ‘Dame Vera Lynn’ from coal to oil.  This will be the first full-size steam locomotive oil conversion in the U.K. since the end of steam, and it is a crucial step forward in “future-proofing” the busiest heritage railway in the country.
