Bardstown has unveiled Discovery Series #8. Known for pushing the boundaries of whiskey innovation, the eighth release in the range is its most complex and innovative yet.
Bardstown Discovery Series #8 is made from a blend of 12-year-old Kentucky bourbon (66%), a seven-year-old Indiana rye (17%), a six-year-old Indiana rye (6%), and a 12-year-old aged Canadian whisky (11%). The distillery then added a custom selection of five oak staves that were created to enhance the unique flavor of the blend.

Back in 2017, Lars Williams and Mark Emil Hermansen–alumni of five-time World’s Top Restaurant winner Noma–launched their own flavor company, Empirical. Now, the Copenhagen-based brand has unveiled SOKA, a new sorghum spirit.
Empirical SOKA combines distillates of fermented fresh sorghum juice and syrup. It’s born from the farms of the American south and midwest. The fresh juice lends springy, green flavors of melon, cucumber, and green apple, with the syrup bringing forward darker aromas of harvest, and notes of hay and toasted honey. Sullivans Cove has unveiled American Oak Tawny Single Cask TD0309. Distilled in August of 2008 and decanted in March of this year, the 13.5 year-old Australian whisky was matured in a single 300L American oak cask previously used to mature Australian tawny fortified wine. Bottled at 47.5% ABV, just 439 bottles have been produced.
