The Kansas City Chiefs have wrapped up 2024 mandatory minicamp, but general manager Brett Veach is far from done on the transaction front. On Thursday, the reigning Super Bowl champions are reportedly adding to their defensive line room. Per Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star, Kansas City has signed former Montana defensive tackle Alex Gubner to a contract. Gubner, a redshirt senior in 2023-24, was named to the first team All-America by the AP and was the Big Sky Defensive MVP for his efforts. According to the Grizzlies' official team football page for Gubner, he was named to four different ..read more

With mandatory minicamp in the books, the Kansas City Chiefs have a very clear idea of who four of their five offensive line starters will be. That quartet figures to be the same one from last season, albeit with a twist. Left guard Joe Thuney, who missed Super Bowl LVIII with a pectoral injury, still isn't cleared to practice with the team. There's also a possibility that he isn't ready to do so once Kansas City reports to training camp in July. Head coach Andy Reid provided an update on Thuney following Thursday's practice, giving a mixed bag of tidbits in the process. "Joe's working his tai ..read more

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy was sidelined throughout almost all of the Chiefs' early-offseason activities (including all of this week's mandatory minicamp) after being selected No. 28 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. Worthy suffered a hamstring injury in May and spent much of minicamp watching practice alongside offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. On Thursday, ahead of a long break for the reigning back-to-back champions, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked about Worthy's status as he attempts to get healthy before heading to training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri later t ..read more

The Kansas City Chiefs may not have a ton of roster spots up for grabs, but there are several positions on the depth chart that have yet to be decided. Perhaps the most pressing question is who will start at left tackle, which has been the case for weeks. As mandatory minicamp comes to a close, there doesn't appear to be an answer on the horizon. The ongoing battle between second-year man Wanya Morris and rookie Kingsley Suamataia is heating up, although it's too early to determine who's winning. Speaking to the media on Thursday, head coach Andy Reid praised both players. He also indicated th ..read more

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is in a very different place than he was this time a year ago — physically, mentally, and financially. Last offseason included a long contract dispute between Jones and the Chiefs, leading to Jones holding out of KC's organized team activities, training camp, and the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. This offseason, Jones and the Chiefs agreed to terms on a long-term deal in March ahead of NFL free agency. With those two very different offseason processes in mind, Jones was asked about his mindset and mental health ahead of the 2024 seaso ..read more

During the late stages of the offseason program before training camp, the Kansas City Chiefs have made one thing perfectly clear. Following a season filled with a lack of high-end wide receiver talent, the franchise is focused on coming back better in 2024. Skill is one area that general manager Brett Veach improved, but that isn't all. Finding speed was a focal point for the reigning champs, so much so that two true burners were added to the room. The offseason pickups of Marquise "Hollywood" Brown (free agency) and Xavier Worthy (draft) make for one heck of a start. Combined with familiar fa ..read more

Isiah Pacheco Feeling 'Mobile' During Healthy Offseason Program

For every good thing Isiah Pacheco brings to the Kansas City Chiefs as a running back, it's also abundantly clear that it comes at a cost. The former seventh-round pick is a violent runner who embraces contact, oftentimes bouncing off defenders and serving as an energy-giver on offense. In his first two seasons on the job, he has 1,765 rushing yards and a pair of Super Bowl rings to show for it. With that said, it's been accompanied by a multitude of injuries. Last offseason, Pacheco was recovering from a broken hand/wrist bone and a shoulder labrum tear. Surgery put him behind the proverbial ..read more
