Our rainbow babe is here! Nearly a month has flown by since Lila was born and we are still in awe of how our family has grown. Calihan has been the absolute best big brother to his little sister. The first diaper that was changed at home was accompanied by Cal by his request. He says “It is ok baby girl” when she cries, and reminds her that we are almost home if she gets fussy in the car. Excited to share the news that we are expecting! We had a rough loss in September and then found out we were pregnant right before Thanksgiving with this little one. At the time of taking these photos we had no idea the gender, but just found out we are expecting a little girl in July! Day two of Cape Town was April 19th which was a rough morning with it being our original due date (from the miscarriage before this pregnancy) and also my cousin who passed away.. her birthday. I woke up a little off so I was so happy to explore more of Cape Town and see some penguins! The drive to the penguins was mostly all scenic views of the coastline. Finally made it to Cape Town!! I have been to South Africa numerous times, but traveling to Cape Town just never seemed to work out because of all the other things we wanted to do. My family friends and family went when they came over for our wedding in 2018 and I was jealous over all of the beautiful photos they took and views they saw. Cheers! We are back in the United States from our trip to South Africa which has been a long time coming. The pandemic really put an anchor in our plans to go sooner as we haven’t been back since 2019, but this age was perfect with Calihan. Originally we planned on being back in late 2020 to visit family since if you are new – Lyall’s entire family is there (besides his sister who now lives in Atlanta). It is the squinty eyes for me Summer is almost here with Memorial weekend being right around the corner! I already feel like May is going so fast. In Michigan, you might get a few warm days in May, but June is where it gets hot! In Texas however, the warmth comes in BLAZIN’ early. We have already had a few 95 degrees days… whew!
