PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are allowing running back Najee Harris to enter the final year of his rookie contract, choosing to decline his fifth-year option as the deadline passes. The Steelers had the option to keep Harris under contract for another season after 2024 with the ability to pick-up his fifth-year option. The move would've guaranteed Harris $6.7 million in 2025 before the team would have to decide whether or not to keep him afterward. Instead, he'll enter the final year of his rookie deal in 2024. Since being drafted 24th overall in 2021 NFL Draft, Harris has been one of ..read more

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly been working on a trade with the San Francisco 49ers, and up until this point, the message from general manager John Lynch has been the same - it's not happening. But with the last rumor mill saying the two sides were back in conversations about a deal, Lynch took the media to shut it all down for what may be the final time. Joining the Pat McAfee Show, Lynch said he and the 49ers are past any moves with the Steelers. "I’m doing everything in my power to keep our roster together,” Lynch said. “That’s my goal, and I don’t question that. When ..read more

PITTSBURGH -- As a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Troy Fautanu was anything but upset that they took him with the 20th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he was surprised. Fautanu and many others were expecting that he'd be gone within the first 15 picks. So why did he fall? Fautanu has a guess. “I have no clue," the Steelers' latest first-round pick said in an appearance on Softy & Dick, a radio show on KJR in Seattle. "I talked to my agent, and he was saying that a team later in the draft might have leaked it to try and get me to fall. The last time I dealt with [my knee] was in ..read more

PITTSBURGH -- When the Pittsburgh Steelers traded for young Bears star Justin Fields, it was somewhat obvious that he would have to sit behind presumed starter Russell Wilson for most, if not al of the season. But while his snaps at quarterback look like they will be limited, Fields could find himself on the field and contributing for the Steelers in a different way if special teams coordinator Danny Smith's dreams for how they will approach the new kickoff rule come true. "I think it's pretty cool," Warren said of the new kickoff rule in an appearance on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward dur ..read more

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers were aggressive this offseason, not only reimagining their offensive scheme by bringing in Arthur Smith as the new offensive coordinator, but adding two new quarterbacks as well. Both of those moves are already paying dividends for the Steelers, according to running back Jaylen Warren. He was highly complimentary of their leadership during an appearance on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward live from the Steelers' draft party last weekend. "It's good. It's a night and day difference, I would say, with their leadership," Warren said. "They bring a lot, they ..read more

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers may be holding back on adding another cornerback this offseason because they believe an undrafted rookie can fill the roll. Following the 2024 NFL Draft, the Steelers inked West Virginia All-American Beanie Bishop to an undrafted free agent contract, bringing him to camp this summer with a shot to make the 53-man roster. Without stepping on the field in Pittsburgh yet, the team already believes he has the potential to make noise as a rookie. "I can’t tell you how excited we were to sign him. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are being called out for the strangest pre-draft meeting of the 2024 NFL Draft. During an interview with the Real Hawk Talk by Hawk Blogger Podcast, former Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy said the Steelers asked him to do something he left feeling a little strange about. The defensive tackle didn't make it to pick No. 20 in the NFL Draft, but if he did, he was probably an option for Pittsburgh. Thankfully, they avoided any uncomfortable circumstance after their visit. "The weirdest thing I did,'' Murphy said, "I was meeting with Pittsburgh. They made m ..read more

They have no more time. Pittsburgh must decide whether or not to pick up the $6.79 million option, keeping Harris in Pittsburgh through 2025. In three y ..read more
