'The Simplicity of Being' Masterclass There are only a few days remaining to register for the "Simplicity of Being" two-part Masterclass which begins on April 10th. Amir and I are delighted to be presenting this Masterclass on "The Simplicity of Being". We all long for peace and wholeness in our increasingly complex lives, but we often overlook the very source from which peace and wholeness naturally arises: the simplicity and ground of our own Being. Please join us in April for this in-depth exploration - we would love to see you there. Learn more about this Masterclass and register here: htt ..read more

The End of Seeking
by Anne Sweet

The turning point for me in coming to the end of seemingly endless seeking was finally taking responsibility for my own evolution. Up until that point, I had been a 'dependent seeker' - believing my guru or grace or a combination of the two would liberate me and release me from suffering. More often than not what I found however was more suffering and very little liberation. Everything changed, and very dramatically, when I recognised that it was all up to me. It means a great deal therefore to be presenting, along with Amir Freimann, our session "Maturity on the Path: Learning to Recognise an ..read more

Renunciation
The End of Seeking
by Anne Sweet
1y ago
I was stunned when I realized that all my ideas about renunciation were mistaken. As I came to understand it, the renunciation of external things – sex, money, fame, comfort, was only a preparation: preparation to renounce the most stubbornly and tightly held thing of all – the attachment to and identification with the individuated personal identity. The practice of renunciation (which I was never very good at) suddenly made total and complete sense ..read more

A Windswept Hill
The End of Seeking
by Anne Sweet

I don’t know why or how the certainty arises, the absolute knowing of how all this works, the deep, unshakeable conviction in one’s theories, insights and realizations. I don’t know why or how the certainty dissolves leaving convictions and beliefs, truths and absolutes dispersing like smoke on a windswept hill, leaving only vague memories of the comfort and security they once bestowed. I don’t know why or how the need to know and the knowing itself evaporated, leaving me stranded on this windswept hill, alive to the currents of air, the faraway views, the blessed ground beneath my feet, and v ..read more

Am I on the Path, for real?
The End of Seeking
by Anne Sweet

About 3 yrs ago, I was led back to the path of seeking, assisted by a few high dose psilocybin experiences. I meditate 40 minutes a day. I think there's been some effect: at times, I can't really tell myself who I am (though I can still tell others). I procrastinate less and crave sugar less. I feel much less of my lifelong self-dislike and depression. Most of all, there is often a *silence* when I look at things that was rarely there before. It can be deafening at times, yet it's very subtle and...confusing. Do you think I could have stepped off the dock and into the boat, which now rocks a b ..read more

'The next Maitreya will be the Sangha'
The End of Seeking
by Anne Sweet
1y ago
Thich Nhat Hanh I have been sceptical of this concept in the past, failing to see how such a sangha (of even highly spiritually developed people) could avoid the politicking, corruption and power grabs that seem to beset even the best-intentioned communities and thereby ruining any hope of a transformative, equitable, sustainable, communal teaching model. There has recently been a revolution in my thinking however that has opened my mind to ‘The next Maitreya will be the Sangha’ as not only a possibility (and a wildly successful one), but also potentially inevitable. This new teaching model de ..read more
