Aldi has opened the doors to its 1,000th UK store in Woking, Surrey today and has committed to a new long-term target of 1,500 stores in the UK, which will see the German discount grocer invest billions into the UK economy. Harrods has swapped out some of its most expensive handbags with £250 versions in airport shops as it accused Rishi Sunak’s tourist tax of deterring wealthy overseas customers.
