8th April Primrose Park
The second paper pulp play day was enjoyed by 15 members
Play Day was great fun today. Fifteen members caught up with each other and made some wonderful things. A few made sheets of paper, some made 3D works, others were experimenting with strips and woven items. We had a young visitor who made some lovely sheets. There was lots of chatter and laughter. ‘My Favourite Things’ 7th March 2024
At Primrose Park, Midora Lane, Cremorne
Friends, food and discussion at exhibition opening
An enjoyable evening was attended by friends, family and members of PPA. Exhibiting artists were in attendance and happily discussed their artwork.

Members were encouraged to include samples of their favourite Gelli Prints which were arranged in an arresting display by Gail MacDonald.

We had a very interesting Print Club on Sunday 10 March.
Robert Ives assists Juni with her Cyanotype
We played with Cyanotype printing which was wonderful.

Different sizing of the paper was explored and drypoint printing was further enjoyed.

PPA Member Judith Wilson’s work “The Gardener” included in 2023/24 Biennale in Shanghai

Congratulations, Judith for being part of this prestigious exhibition. Judith has previously exhibited at Shanghai Biennale 21/22 with her work ‘Courtship’.

Orientation Day Sessions January 15th and 18th 2024
Over 2 sessions on January 15th and 18th new members were welcomed to attend the studio and take part in activities designed to help them see some of what can be participated in. To be shown the resources and equipment available and enjoy some ‘hands-on’ artistic pursuits including Suminagashi, Gelli printing, Stencil making. Altered States was mounted at Willoughby Incinerator art space in October 2023. There was a diverse range of work from the Primrose Paper Arts members. The exhibition was attended by about 600 visitors.
As part of this inspiring exhibition there were collaborative works from a group of members alongside individual pieces. The collaborative works were on the theme of ‘Altered Books’.

Primrose Paper Arts has a wonderful resource, our extensive library. Michele Day and Cecelia Clarke have put in a lot of effort to organise the material and want to encourage members to borrow and delve into the treasury of paper related books we have to offer.
