Kids Shared Bathroom
The Learner Observer Blog

Having the kids share their own bathroom is great - they each get their own sink, and I don’t have to deal with the seat always being up when I use the toilet in the middle of the night! That said, it did take us about five years to actually finish this space. It sat with only one usable sink and no shelves plus only primer on the walls until I knew I couldn’t take it anymore and had to do something about it.  This is where my friends at American Standard Canada came in! They helped make the biggest impact on this space with the most perfect sinks and faucets. The sinks we had before were ..read more

Front Porch Makeover with Hauser

I love our front porch. It’s always sunny, warm, and our kids love playing in the front yard, so it means I get some space to actually sit and watch them. But this front porch had seen better days. The love seat was truly a sad situation - it has more stains on it than I care to admit and honestly, the cushions are so lumpy they’re no longer comfortable. As for the other two chairs, they’re from our outdoor dining set and don’t exactly scream “come sit on me” you know what I mean? So what did we do? Well, naturally I wanted to create an outdoor space that feels as comfortable as an indoor spac ..read more

It’s no secret that I love my Cricut machines. I’m consistently using them for projects, and this year the outdoor projects have taken over. I recently made this banner for our sunroom and may even have a little update on some pillows for coming soon! It’s just such a versatile machine, and this time I stretched myself to try something that honestly intimidated me: a stencil project! *this post is sponsored by Cricut - all opinions are my own First, let me say this: I am NOT a perfectionist. Not in any way, shape or form. The reason I was reluctant to try a stencil project is that I feel like ..read more

Project Big Chill - A Kitchen and Dining Room Makeover
The Learner Observer Blog
by Thalita Murray

I’m passionate about kitchens. Like can’t get enough of every last detail, want to find a spot for every appliance and garbage can and dish a client owns, kind of passionate. So when our friends-turned-clients came to me to see if I could help them make their tiny and dated kitchen into a larger and much more useable space, I jumped at the opportunity. Let me show you what this space used to look like! For starters, we worked with contractors The Brolaws to ensure the wall between the kitchen and dining room could be taken down. Thankfully that was a go and didn’t require too much moving a ..read more
