This week at Waupoo’s we wanted to humbly thank two special helpers during our garbage pickup! These two brave boys were willing to help staff by lifting up immense piles of garbage. Thanks to them, we were able to finish garbage pick-up twice as quick. Kitten Update: Little Petey is getting bigger, whilst his sister (Spirit) hasn’t grown at all. They seem just as energetic as they’d always been, playing about and even gently pawing at cellphones. Here they are in their full glory! Cookie Baking: The artistic activity this week was one that didn’t involve glitter glue or paint, but instead co ..read more

Many kids gathered at Waupoos Family Farm this week, and we were delighted to have them here! The pool welcomed dozens of guests, and the activities were bustling with smiling children. Welcome Home Spirit, and Little Pete! On July 26, 2022, we welcomed two precious kittens to our farm! The kids decided on the name ‘Spirit’ for the black one, and ‘Little Pete’ for the black and white one. While Spirit can be timid at times, she warms up to people eventually and be incredibly cuddly. On the flip side, Little Pete is an energetic bundle of joy that loves to play with everyone! Of course, our ani ..read more

Waupoos was happy to welcome a whole house of families this week. Plenty of eager children were on the edge of their seats to partake in the activities our family farm had to offer! Chapel Time We are happy to introduce our lovely host family; Elyse and Ruby, who ran a wonderful chapel every morning. Every chapel was well thought through, anyone could see the amount of effort this duo put into starting every morning off on a positive note. The morning started off strong, with a beautiful prayer being read, followed by some calming meditation. To top it all off, almost every session was tied to ..read more

This week at Waupoos was quieter than the previous weeks, however many found it to be just as gratifying. Many activities held for the guests were considered more therapeutic, our host family running countless hours of exciting events, one of the most popular being the outdoor coloring where kids were given the opportunity to color and then paste their creations onto fancy paper! Parents could rest easy and catch a break while their children were engulfed in the world of creativity. Meet the Animals We’re also incredibly excited to announce that cottagers are now able to feed the sheep during ..read more

The first week of vacation for Waupoos Farm started off with a bang! Packed with fun adventures outside such as nature walks, archery, and swimming, the families at Waupoos are seen enjoying their stay. During the week, our lovely host, Mariam was able to run a morning chapel where families were able to bond over what they were thankful for, listen to fascinating stories, and even read a morning prayer together. Through this, the cottagers could start their mornings with bonding activities and scrumptious homemade muffins.                  &n ..read more

As we wrap up the summer, the staff look back on all the fun, friends, new skills, and challenges we faced this summer. This year we had five staff, and we’ve written a small summary about our favourite parts of the summer! “I have a long history of volunteering with Waupoos, and the mission is really important to me. I’m really glad I was able to spend this summer running activities, baking muffins, and even learning how to operate our tractor. The most important part of the summer for me was being able to put smiles on all the kids’ faces!”  Abbey, Camp Counsellor “With my original summ ..read more

Aaaand that’s a wrap! Waupoos welcomed four families for the final week of the summer. It was a quieter week than most, but there was still lots of fun on the farm! “Meet the Animals” was a highlight. It’s an opportunity for the families to meet the animals that we have and learn how to care for them. Another highlight was “Make Your Own Pizzas” when they got to make their own family pizzas and cook them in their cottage. Lots of fun songs were played and sung at the bonfire, with s’mores as well! Participation was high at the talent show this week with gymnastics, comedy, and a special act b ..read more
