I’ve been busier than usual these past few weeks, and it seems that life just never slows down. Just when you think you can relax for a moment, something pops up to pull you in a new direction. One of my favourite ways to welcome fall is by hanging a handmade wreath on my front door. I don’t always have the time – or budget – to scour the stores for craft supplies, so this year I ‘shopped’ my home instead. I wanted the process to be quick and simple, but still make a statement on my front door. I also wanted the option of re-using my stems for other decorating projects in the future. A TALL ORDER! BUT, I think I accomplished what I set out to do with this Lush & Leafy DIY Fall Wreath. It did not require cutting down my stems and this DIY was done without the use of a wreath form ..read more

It’s now September and the weather here in eastern Ontario is starting to get a wee bit chillier. I’ve always preferred the balmy days of summer over fall, but I am ready to embrace the coming autumn with all its colour and cozy comforts. In fact, I’ve already begun to decorate our home using accessories included in My Fall Decor Favourites Round Up (find the full list at the bottom of this post). Over the past few years, I’ve been increasingly drawn to incorporating seasonal elements that integrate into our home’s existing design. Making just a FEW SIMPLE SWAPS are my GO-TO METHOD of transiti ..read more

Where has the summer gone? It seems to have flown right by. We have not been on vacation (yet), having been occupied by various SUMMER DIVERSIONS here at home. I also reached a PERSONAL MILESTONE that I’ve only recently begun to process (somewhat). REACHING A MILESTONE Turning Fifty Earlier this year, this blogger turned FIFTY! Yep, the big five oh. Half a century. Yikes. While I don’t ‘feel’ any different (exc ..read more

As someone who prefers indoor activities, I am always magically – and predictably – drawn outside during the warm and sunny days of summer. There’s just so much to ignite my creativity (despite all those pesky bugs!) Regardless, I love exploring beaches and wooded areas, in large part because of the visual inspiration they hold. Whether I’m stumbling upon fallen pinecones and twigs, rolled up pieces of bark or driftwood with interesting shapes, nature never fails to inspire me. If you, too, are inspired by the creative possibilities found in the great outdoors, you’ll love today’s round-up of ..read more

It’s also a unique starting point for gathering up found materials that can be incorporated into your weavings, including handwoven art. So whether you are a long-time weaver or just a beginner, you’ll find – as I did – that weaving with nature is a lot of fun and much easier than it looks.
