My first February weekend was spent at the newest and the first ever international co-living property in Cebu, lyf Cebu City. Located in Baseline Center, lyf opened just before the Sinulog 2024 celebration, making it the perfect accommodation for families and groups of friends who went to join in the festivities. The co-living concept is designed for dynamic travelers who are always on the move and loves social interaction with other travelers. As soon as I arrived at the 5th floor of the building (it's where the check-in counter is), I was welcomed with vibrant and distinct interiors. Unl ..read more

I have made a promise to myself that I would go on an international trip with my son Zayn at least once a year. This year, my goal is to finally go on a trip to one of the happiest destinations in the world — Hong Kong. And to “save up” on the plane ticket expenses, I am joining the Maya New Year Challenge where I can get the chance to win UNLI flights with Maya. Although I haven’t planned a solid itinerary for our trip yet, the non-negotiable destination for us would be Hong Kong Disneyland. Zayn and I both love Disney movies and we would love to fulfill our hearts’ desires, achieve our f ..read more

Days three and four of my Bangkok trip were not so jam-packed because I wanted to enjoy as much as I can the places I planned to go to. Day 3 was spent exploring the magnificent Ancient City and the mythical Erawan Museum. The highlight of my fourth day was a food adventure at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and finally trying the original and authentic Thai massage. Anyway, here's a summed up story of my third and last day in the beautiful city of Bangkok. Ancient City Address: 296/1 Sukhumvit Road, Bangpoo, Samut Prakan 10280 Opening Hours: 9AM - 6PM daily Entrance Fee: THB 700 (non ..read more

Bangkok Day 2: Temple Run at The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun

I carefully planned my daily itinerary for my Bangkok trip because although I wanted it to be a "chill" trip, I was also running on a slightly tight schedule because of my freelance work. I had to be back at the hotel by 5:30PM so I can clock in at 6PM. Remote freelance work sometimes has its own drawbacks, eh? Anyway, my second day in the beautiful city of Bangkok was spent running around from one temple to another. If only I had a lot of time in my hands, I would've been able to visit more so I prioritized three of the most famous temples for now—The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun ..read more

Bangkok Day 1: Mall Hopping & Shopping

I only had four full days to explore Bangkok and I set my first day for mall hopping and shopping for souvenirs. Yes, I planned it this way so that I can organize the souvenirs in my luggage ahead of time to avoid any problems in my last day. Is it just me or are you like this, too? Haha. I left the hotel around 8 in the morning and I'm glad that the bus stop was just a three-minute walk away from my hotel. I waited for my bus and it wasn't long until it arrived. I hopped on the bus and the bus conductor immediately gave me a ticket and asked where I was going. I told her my destination an ..read more

Where I stayed in Bangkok: Zircon Hotel

Out of all the hotels I've come upon, Zircon Hotel was where I landed. Despite its location and a few negative reviews, I just couldn't get myself to find another accommodation because I got comfortable with it even when I haven't arrived just yet. Haha. I booked the hotel for 3 nights (November 15-18) and I paid THB 1,979. I was actually hoping that they would allow me to check in early since I'll be arriving at 1AM of November 15th, but I did not expect too much. When I arrived at the hotel, I was asked to pay for an additional night which cost me THB 700, which I actually do not have an ..read more

Nothing hits the spot more than Filipino food for me. I love introducing new flavors to my palate but home is indeed where the heart is. There is already a plethora of Filipino restaurant choices here in Cebu and new ones still continue to emerge, each offering something that makes them stand out from the rest. Just like Bayanihan Native Cuisine that recently opened in the center of Cebu’s bustling business and lifestyle district. Bayanihan Native Cuisine offers a delightful fusion of Filipino flavors, promising to whisk you away on a culinary expedition throughout the archipelago. Their m ..read more

HueMann is the newest coffee shop in Cebu but they take pride in being first German coffee brand in the city. HueMann brings the German coffee culture here in Cebu where good coffee is paired with good food, and enjoyed over good conversations. Boasting a white and minimalist aesthetic with wooden blocks serving as tables and chairs, HueMann designed their café not for you to sit all day and be glued on your screens, but to disconnect and foster conversations with your friends and dear ones while enjoying a cup of That Coffee. I enjoyed three different types of coffee from their menu: h ..read more
