It’s my favourite time of year - the Dulux Colour Forecast - and I’ve done a deep dive. Ready? Grab a drink and a snack and let’s go! All images are styled by Bree Leech and photographed by Lisa Cohen for Dulux NZ & Dulux Australia. Walls in Dulux Ōkārito, door in Dulux Ashburton, striped wall in Dulux Herd Street and Dulux Breezy Half. Colour Forecasting and styling: Bree Leech, Photography: Lisa Cohen It’s hard to believe that we’re almost two years into the “post-covid” world. Not, of course, that we’re actually “post” anything but there was very clearly the “before” and we’re now well ..read more

This year i’m partnered with Adairs, putting my own maximalist spin on styling their fun and creative products. Here’s a guide I’ve put together using Adairs products to show different ways to mix and match patterns! The steps I use can be applied to anything and everything. They’re something to explore and experiment with, and soon you’ll be fearless in your clashing! Pattern is a way to add layers to your home, and to create a look that is unique to you. It’s also a great way to change up your decor without starting from scratch by mixing patterns in different ways. A subtle pattern shift ca ..read more

All images styled by Bree Leech and photographed by Lisa Cohen As we sit here on our 15th(?) day of the current lockdown in NZ, we’re once again reminded how much the world has changed. A fitting time to get the Dulux colour trend predictions for 2022, and a very welcome one as we contemplate once again these walls we call home (and contemplate, and contemplate). A launch event for this years colour forecast was planned (for today actually) back when we were blithely swanning about in (then) Covid free Aotearoa, but things are different now and don’t we know it. Titled “Colours for a new era ..read more

How-To: 3D Wall Mural

I created this project for Bunnings NZ #DIYJULY as sponsored posts over on Instagram. I’m sharing it in full here for easy reference! I hope you love it. I’m forever painting walls and murals, but I wanted to mix it up a bit and come at it in a whole new way. Enter the 3D mural, or a wall collage! Taking inspiration from cut paper collages, these shapes are cut from plywood before attaching to the wall. This means that not only are they moveable, they’re rental friendly, and can even be used to decorate difficult spaces - like my fully tiled bathroom walls. You’ll need: To create this proje ..read more

Walls in Dulux Lake Brunner, ceiling and trim in Dulux Mt Aspiring Double. Fast Forward, original artwork by Liam Snootle, from Studio Gallery Photographer @LisaCohenPhoto Stylist: @BreeLeech Every year I feel like winter appears out of nowhere, one day I’m flinging the windows open and complaining of being too hot and then suddenly the nights are longer, the fire is lit and the house is getting a cozy-up for the colder months. Colour is such a big part of how I experience the seasons, and autumn and winter are my favourite. There is such a richness in how we experience our homes when it’s da ..read more

I’m so proud and happy to finally reveal the full Puna Room makeover! Admittedly we finished a little while ago but hopefully it only makes it better to know it’s already been enjoyed over the last month or so by the families. As a little recap, or if you’re new to this - the Puna Room is the name we gave to a playroom at a local women’s refuge safe house run by the wonderful and hardworking Te Whānau Rangimarie . We transformed a run down double garage on the property in to a bright playroom/second living space and educational area for the up to 19 women and children who live in this home aft ..read more

Winter 2020 Colour Trends With Dulux - The Indulge Palette
Evie Kemp Blog

Somehow here in the Southern Hemisphere we’ve found ourselves in Winter. It’s a weird one, considering we’ve spent most of 2020 in lockdown - predominantly indoors, to have our freedom back only for short, cold days and a hankering for home. I think many of us have been given a new appreciation of what these four walls really mean to us and how our environment really impacts us. The Dulux 2020 Winter Trends “Indulge” Palette as part of the “Essence” colour forecast. STYLIST: BREE LEECH. PHOTOGRAPHER: LISA COHEN. COLOURS: DULUX® WASH&WEAR® IN RUSSET TAN, CARDRONA. . I was delighted to again team up with the wonderful folk at Feel Good With Flowers to create the imagery for NZ Flowers Week 2019. NZ Flowers week is all about championing our homegrown flower industry and supporting our growers and florists. It’s a beautiful project that I’m truly so passionate about. Flowers are such an emotive thing and learning more and more about the industry only has me more besotted. For the 2019 shoot, we again teamed up with Dulux NZ to create some stunning colour combinations, with Izak Van Der Merwe working his photography magic to make my ideas come to life. For th ..read more
