December is here again. We hope you’re all doing well. It’s cold here. It makes us concerned for everyone with their heating bills, and frustrated that we cannot do more to help. Our household page has always had some energy saving advice. We hope it proves useful.
This is a quote from our Frugal Christmas page:
Chill out. Enjoy Frugal Christmas. Say no to things that will stress and exhaust you.
Sit by the fire. Eat crisps. Read a book.
Watch telly. Put your feet up. Eat chocolate. Forget to peel the sprouts. Let someone else do it. Or bin them.

It’s getting darker. It’s getting colder. The politicians play their games and not much changes for the normal person in this country. Strange times we live in.
Still, autumn is beautiful, the log fire is comforting, and seeing the stars at night is a little bit magical.

There’s a chill in the air…
The heat and glory of summer is definitely passing here in Scotland. Just like everyone else, we’ve been horrified to hear of the huge energy price hike. Do look out for your £400 of help that is due every household in Britain. It’ll come off your direct debits or be refunded to you monthly (at about £66 a month) over the winter by your energy company. Make sure you get it from October. Contact the company if you don’t.
We have lots of tips on our household page for reducing energy usage. See the 25p meal for super frugal cooking.
