Minnesota State officials have announced that they have reached an agreement on a new five-year contract extension with women’s basketball head coach Emilee Thiesse. The new contract, which becomes effective July 1, 2024, will replace Thiesse’s current agreement. Brandeis University’s women’s basketball team, Carol Simon, is retiring, according to the Boston Globe. Simon sat out last season after being placed on administrative leave following allegations that she had violated Brandeis University policies. The veteran head coach was reinstated earlier this spring, which led to backlash from current team members.
