If you've followed me long enough, you know I like to fan the flames of outrage whenever I post about upgrading my rental. It's great for engagement, and I'm trying to hit 100K on TikTok - can you blame me? ??♀️
Recently, I shared my prized possession, an Easton Classic Two-Whole Bridge Faucet with Oak Leaver Handles and Spray, that I picked up for free while working at Waterworks. And, of course, that got the haters going.
And it should, because why would a faucet cost $6000? This specific faucet is of superior quality. Made of solid brass ..read more

After many years of doing DIY projects, both big and small, I've amassed a collection of tools and supplies that I can pick from when it's time to start the next project. You might think this collection keeps me out of my local hardware store, but you would be wrong.
Because there is no greater way to spend an afternoon than wandering the aisles of Home Depot, Ace Hardware, or Lowe's for the right drill bit, anchor, or whatever.
That said, there is a certain amount of anxiety that comes when you're starting a new project but are unsure of what tools you need ..read more

As a nosey little bitch, I’m always asking people how much they paid for something. I want to know how much your rent is. I want to know how much you paid for those sneakers. And when I see a beautiful room, I always think to myself… “How Much Did That Cost?”
And because I know you’re just like me, I’m gonna give you the tea on my bathroom makeover, including the total price, before and after photos, and my reasoning for doing this in a rental. Read On!

Welcome to the Homie Hot List!
A round-up of the most clicked, shopped, and requested links of March 2024.
Last month was a wild one! I finished my renter-friendly-ish bathroom and made progress on the kitchen makeover… But perhaps the biggest shock of all was being featured on NPR's Weekend Edition. For four minutes, I went on and on with Ayesha Rascoe about the joys of decorating a rental and how to get your landlord on board. The experience was thrilling. Like, an actual mind-fuck. I'm still in disbelief.
Does this mean I'm famous now? lol

There comes a time in every girl's life when she must put away the yoga pants, pop on her sexiest dress, and go out for a $22 cocktail… I’ve gone out three nights this week and there are two things I’ve been doing to ensure I look scrumdiddlyumptious…
First I restarted my Rent The Runway subscription - get 30% off - and I’ve been wearing the proper shapewear under all my clothes.
At 28, I finally understand why my grandma insisted on me wearing slips as a young lady. They really do make your overall outfit look better. So, let’s take a peak under my dresses a ..read more

I'm very good at updating bathrooms in a renter-friendly way. In my studio apartment, I used pasted bead board wallpaper to cover the boring white tiles and despite thousands of comments telling me my landlord was going to sue me… It came off with no issues and I got my security deposit back with interest.
This time around, I’m not hiding the tiles, I’m letting the two-toned tiles shine and using my favorite renter-friendly hacks to makeover my bathroom. I’ve found some excellent tips and tricks while remodeling a rental and I want to share!

We've all been conditioned to believe anyone who loves themselves and their home would never allow themselves to have a mouse. That is a super damaging mindset to those of us dealing with the little critters.
So much so that it makes it hard to find information on how to fix the problem. Even though it's embarrassing AF to admit these kinds of things, but it's only fair to show the not-so-glamourous side of apartment living, especially when y'all are there to support me when I'm being featured on The Washington Post or launching a wallpaper collection! So, le ..read more

Scrolling through my feed, you'll notice a few things about me…
I love peel-and-stick wallpaper.
I'm a bigger gal. Where are all my 200 lbs.+ Homies!??♀️
I love wearing jeans.
It doesn't matter if they're a light wash or dark. Ripped or tailored. Fitted or baggy… I love jeans. I've spent a lot of time curating the perfect collection of denim, to the point where I just rebuy the same pair in different washes to fit my needs. My closet is in a beautiful place at the moment.

Bonjour!
The crazy thing about being an adult with a credit card is that nobody can stop me from buying a last-minute plane ticket to Paris. No one. Not a single, solitary person can beat my a$$ about it. And that's precisely how I ended up with a Lorazepam scrip in one hand and an over weight carry-on ever in the other on Christmas Eve…
