An honest depiction from our wonderful RDL-C adopter Stephanie Barbeau, about her experience since she welcomed her rescue dog Khronos (previously Scooby). "Hi wonderful RDL-C Family! I really wanted to share the story of our dog, Khronos. It’s a long story but I hope you will enjoy the read as much as I loved living it! Khronos had a rough start in life in Lebanon. He arrived on August 3rd, 2020 and he was 1 and 1/2 years old. Other than the fact that he loved to be petted, he really showed no emotion. He did not wag his tail for almost 6 weeks after we welcomed him, and often looked letharg ..read more

A letter to BIRDY

A year ago today, you flew, literally, into our lives. Happy ‘Gotcha’ day Birdy. Crazy how time flies… It seems just a few weeks ago that time ground to a halt in those long, last days as we waited for you to arrive from Lebanon where you had been found, shot, wounded, blind and wandering the streets. Where you had also been saved by an amazing rescue Rescue DOGS from Lebanon-CANADA and by amazing people. The sleepless last couple of nights, especially that last one when I knew you were ‘en route’ from Beirut to Geneva to Montreal and I worried so much. Would you be scared alone in the crate ..read more

Hey, it’s been 3 months I’m Canadian So I’m Pixel (Tessa, from Mashas’s litter) arrived in Montreal in the middle of winter! Everything was strange here: my humans speak French, I didn’t understand a word at the beginning And leaving in a city with all that noise, I was barking at everything. My humans insisted to often go out but I was scared and didn’t want to go further than the next houses, why going so far when it is so good to stay home? But I have learned that I cannot pee when or where I want, and now I am even enjoying long walks! I didn’t sleep well for my first night: jetlag, noisy ..read more

3 days, 3 Weeks, 3 Months Today, is 3 months since Piper came into our home. Every time I spoke with Cynthia Ashkar over the last 3 months, she would keep encouraging me to post online about Piper but I was waiting for the 3 month mark, for Piper to truly feel at home and post a big update. Sorry for taking so long Cynthia This is my first time having a dog at home and I can tell you I was not ready for the massive change it would bring to my life and lifestyle. I remember Shilpa and I went through a series of panic attacks and the “puppy blues” and even called Cynthia in panic on the first da ..read more

MAX, the canadian dog

Max was born in Lebanon but we like to think he was destined to be Canadian. He has adapted to all our seasons and truly loves winter! Max’s Story: Max was abandoned in a garage bin when he was just a couple weeks old, he was weak and sick. Fortunately he was rescued and was brought to the vet to be taken care of. Max recovered and grew to be an adorable boy, however, he spent his days alone with the doorman, in the garden and forest surrounding the house. His rescuer knew he couldn’t keep Max and give him the home he needed as he already has a golden retriever who is possessive and a bit agre ..read more

My wife Paola and I adopted Mila from rescuer Soraya, she was part of the Tripawd Squad in Jan 2021 The 3-3-3 rule is very true (3 days, 3 weeks, 3months) During the first week, Mila only ever really stayed in her bed. Not comfortable enough to discover the house yet. Every day saw little improvements, slowly she started wandering around the home, a few new steps at a time. We are lucky that Mila already knew to do her business outside, with only a single time she went inside (it was our fault, we kept her inside for too long, it was -30 in Mtl and didn't want her to go outside) Here we are ab ..read more

I apologize in advance for my novel. We started looking for a dog to add to our family when we saw how much of a difference other family members dogs had on our middle son. We went through MANY different rescues, and places in our area, they all denied us for one thing..at the time we lived in an apartment even though I had told them we already go for multiple walks a day without having a dog. We had even been looking for apartment sized dogs at the time. I had almost given up when I remembered a good friend of our had just adopted the sweetest dog so I contacted her she sent me the Facebook p ..read more

“Hi everyone, Orlando here. I have been doing sooo good off-leash; it’s unbelievably fun exploring the farm with my four-legged friends! Today, my sister Nova and I discovered the BEST thing we have ever smelled in our entire lives... We couldn’t help but to take turns rolling in it! Mama, on the other hand, was not nearly as impressed with our discovery... Can you believe she put us both in the bath as soon as we got back inside?! How rude of her! We worked hard to get this delectable dead animal smell all over us!” Long story short, my two troublemakers rolled in something this morning... th ..read more
