The town of St Arnaud is a small former gold rush settlement, roughly 2.5 hours drive North-west of Melbourne, but for us it’s just a quick 30 minute trip from our hometown of Donald. If you have read our blog before, you’ll know we love exploring street art and the Silo art trails around the state. While we live so close to St Arnaud, we had yet to stop in and check out the growing art scene there, until now!  St Arnaud Silo Art The Wimmera/Mallee region’s silo art trail has a new beauty in its gallery. In 2020, St Arnaud added to the growing number of Silo art projects in the region ..read more

Back in 2019, when interstate travel was a much easier affair, we travelled to Darwin and spent a month exploring this beautiful and interesting part of Australia. While there, we chose the Hidden Valley Holiday Park as our home base for a number of weeks, here are our thoughts. WHY WE CHOSE HIDDEN VALLEY HOLIDAY PARK Like many people, we turned to the internet to find a place to stay. Hidden Valley Holiday Park offered a large number of Powered Ensuite sites, which was a must for us, as we like to have our own shower and toilet when travelling. We don’t deny it. We love the painted silos in Australia. Since the introduction of silo art back in 2015, it has had huge benefits for regional towns and communities across Australia, with the influx of tourists coming to the townships. We are lucky to live so close to where the first Silo Art Trail began. That being in the Yarriambiack Shire of Victoria with the silos that include Brim, Sheep Hills, Rupanyup, Lascelles, Rosebery and Patchewollock. We love warm weather but unfortunately, the downside to it is the mozzies, midgies, flies and every other flying insect wants to linger around you. We have lost count the number of times we have woken up covered in itchy red welts whilst we have been on our camping adventures.  You can relate to this, cant you?  We have used several Insect Repellants including Bushmans, Aeroguard, Off & The Locals, but nothing worked as well as the All Natural, Mangrove Magic Insect Potion.  Our love for this product is strong, so we chose to do a full review of Mangrove Magic Insect Repella ..read more
